Blair really just gets himself into foul trouble, and it's not like it happens an inordinate amount. He has fouled out three times this season and yet has somehow developed a reputation as 'easy to foul out'. Strange. When he fouls out it is his own damn fault.
Should be an interesting match-up. Pitt is definitely the more talented team, but Xavier has a deep and disciplined squad. I think they'll struggle with Blair.

i dont really get how you see this. nova played the game of their lives yesterday, that wont happen again. they are inconsistent and duke matches up with them well. dukes got great defenders who can stick with and are taller/longer than the nova guys. cunningham is good, but its not like he is some overpowering monster down low so we can actually defend him too. as long as duke doesnt shoot 32% i see them winning by 9. Played the game of their life? Are you fucking kidding me? They beat the weakest team UCLA has had in 5 years by 20 points. They beat Syracuse, Marquette, and Pitt by double digits this year. Those are all much more impressive than yesterdays game. Why do I think Villanova will win? I watched them both play about 8 to 10 times this year and have not thought Duke was a better team than Nova since early January. ive got a friend who goes to nova and goes to every game. he even stated himself it was the best they have played. reynolds had 0 turnovers they took it inside successfully and hit jumpers. they played as a team and worked it around. it was by far their best team performance. i actually believe i saw those 3 games u were talking about, they were not all around as good as they were in this one. the duke better tahn since early january makes no sense to me. duke was terrible early in the year and just got by all the bad teams. duke hasnt been a good team until recently when paulus got benched and elliot williams became a starter.

Can't wait to see the Nova-Duke game. I picked Nova and I think they match up extremely well with Duke. They will spread Duke out and make them guard man to man all across the board. Duke needs to bring their game to win this game or have Nova play average. If Nova plays like they did against UCLA or in the 2nd half against American, I see about an 8-9 point Nova win. its definitely a positive that duke matches up with nova well. nova doesnt have a big dominant PF post force. cunningham is good but he is a guy that lance thomas and kyle singler can trade off on and defend successfully. plus dukes advantage is having big guards/forwards who can play great man to man defense. duke is going to have a height advantage on the guards and forwards they are defending, plus they are good defenders and can stick with the nova guys. it should be interesting to see how many TOs reynolds has because its usually a lot and teams like to turn it over on dukes strong man to man defense.

Blair doesn't really like to try and block shots. At all. He will go for a steal quite often, but he's not a shot-blocker. I just don't think Xavier will have an answer for both Young and Blair.

I don't see any way Xavier can beat Pitt. I thought Pitt would come out hot on Thursday and beat either X or Wisconsin by double digits before the games today. I don't know if Pitt will win as easy as I thought but I don't think there is any way you lose.

This likely has to do with the fact that UCLA isn't comparable to any of the teams they beat in the Big East. This is why the wins are more impressive. I said I've thought Nova is a better team since early January since I've watched them both play a lot. Nova has been on a different level for most of that time. You can mention the new Duke lineup putting them in the conversation now though. Thank God Paulus got benched. I couldn't stand my idiot friends who know nothing about basketball constantly telling me he was good when he is complete trash. Duke somehow opened at -3. It is already down to -2. Nova is going to be the favorite by Thursday. Not that this matters in anything though

Pitt actually played a really good game today. Oklahoma State was absolutely unreal in the first half but the score was still tied at the break. They took Oklahoma State's absolute best shot and are still standing.

Playing a meaningful game against a trash team is always going to make you look like you played your best game. My senior year in high school we played an above average team in soccer that we had coasted to wins of 3-0 and 2-0 in the regular season. We played them in the State Quarterfinals and won 9-1 with our starters out for over 30 minutes of the game. Was it the best we looked? Of course! Was it the best we played? No. Was it the most impressive game we played? No
The same can be said about Villanova

They could've played better.

Xavier's going to need to shoot alot better than they did against Wisconsin. They'll probably need to shoot close to 45% to even have a chance. I think Xavier has the bodies to do a relatively decent job of keeping Blair somewhat in check on the offensive glass. He's one of the better offensive rebounders I've ever seen though.

Pitt really stepped up their perimeter defense in the second half and took away the open looks. Oklahoma State was 10-16 from deep in the first half. That's ridiculous. In the first half they shot 62% from the field, 100% from the FT line, and only turned it over 4 times. The game, however, was still tied. Pitt matched them shot-for-shot. Oklahoma State put up their biggest fight. I don't really think they could've played much better.

Someone on Facebook has a perfect bracket.
Problem is, he's a lifelong Mizzou fan and has them winning the national championship.
