1. New Orleans Hornets | Terrence Morrison SG 6'5'' 205 21 B B+ B B+ C A
Terrence ‘He Got Game’ Morrison is above and beyond the best player in this class. He will immediately make an impact on whatever team lands the No. 1 pick and is a lock to win the Rookie of the Year. Could be the next top player to be drafted number one and come into the league with a fury since Derrick Rose (2008) and Duk-Young Bak (2015). Look for Morrison to be a top 5 player in the league in his prime.
2- Utah Jazz | DeAndre Chamberlain C 6'10'' 240 20 C D+ C A- B+ A
Chamberlain is following the footsteps of many young bigs that came through and been top picks in past drafts. Many expect him not to be a bust like Bobby Joe Hill two seasons ago and be more like Brody Masterson, last year’s No. 2 pick. Either way, Chamberlain is packing amazing rebounding and defensive capabilities at only 20 years old. If he develops an inside game, he could be a top big man in the league by 28 years old.
3- Milwaukee Bucks | LaSav Cunningham SG 6'7'' 190 20 C+ A C C+ C- B
In any other draft, Cunningham could be gunning for the number one spot. But just narrowly doesn’t get into the top two in this draft because of the influx of talent with Morrison and Chamberlain. At his best, Cunningham is expected to put up spectacular numbers from beyond the arc, ala Quentin Richardson. He should be one the games’ more polished outside scorers within his first three seasons and could make his own case as R.O.Y. depending on the team he goes to.
4- Chicago Bulls | Sebastian Garcia Ramirez PG 6'2'' 175 22 C+ A- A- C C- B
Ramirez is following a long line of richly developed foreign players in BBS. From Manu Ginobilli to last year’s Diego Alvarez, Ramirez should be another success story in BBS from day one. He can already be starting for some of the worse teams in BBS at point guard while also putting up 15 points per game as a rookie. If reward camps are utilized correctly on Ramirez, he could be a hell of a point guard down the road in the future.
5- Washington Wizards | Tyler Brady C 7'4'' 350 21 C D B+ B+ B A
Brady is the second big man to be taken off the draft board here and why not? He combines incredible size and girth at only 21 years old with an uncanny ability to pass the ball. His offensive game needs a lot of work right now but he should average at least close to 10 points a game as a rookie with enough playing time. His ceiling seems to be pretty high and big man are at a premium in this league. Brady should go at least in the top-seven picks.
6- Golden State Warriors | Robert Band SF 6'7'' 224 22 B B B- C+ D A
Band is so balanced at this point with more room to grow that he might be a steal here at No. 6. Early notes indicate Band as being one of those ultra versatile players that can score inside and out but not rebound a lick outside of that. He seems an ideal fit for a fast offense because of his speed and his passing ability but probably won’t have as much of an impact as others drafted ahead of him.
7- New York Knicks (From ATL) | Skyler Hampton SG 6'4'' 182 20 C+ B+ C+ A- C+ B
Hampton is described to have an electrifying game that brings together quickness and incorporates it into all faces of the game. He’s an off the charts leaper and great mid range scoring threat. He’s also an above average ball handler and terrific rebounder for only being 6’4. His only knocks may be his lack of ideal size at shooting guard and his inability to fill out the stat sheet on the defensive end.
8- Phoenix Suns (From DEN) | Terric Harrison C 6'11'' 255 20 B C C- B B- B
Terric is one tantalizing prospect come draft day. He has such an amazing and powerful skill set that many wonder if his game might be tapped out from getting any better. He also doesn’t get many players involved when he has the ball and could be a bit foul prone. But, if he’s anything like another LSU prospect picked a few years ago, Marcus Bigelow, Harrison could be one heck of a player. The only reason he may fall here is the lack of potential many scouts are talking about.
9- Dallas Mavericks | Travanis Landry SG 6'5'' 220 20 B C- C B- C+ A
An extremely young but gifted talent, Landry opted out of last year’s draft to improve his stock in this year’s pool. It might pay off here with a top 10 selection and possibly even higher depending on his draft camp notes. He’s a freak athlete and uses it to score easily on the offensive end. His long arms and frame helps him on the defensive end by getting tips and swats. His outside game leaves a lot to be desired right now though although he should keep improving as he only turned 20 years old recently.
10- San Antonio Spurs| Kareem Melton SG 6'5'' 200 20 C B+ C C D+ A
Melton is a Windex clean outside shooter that has tons of potential and alot of intrigue going into the draft. Pre-camp counselors have indicated his desire to continue to work and become one of the game's premier perimieter shooters. Melton should a be a solid pickup for whoever picks him up despite his lack of defense and inside game right now.
11- Golden State Warriors (From DET) | Bradley Kinkirk C 7'3'' 290 24 B- F+ F+ A B- C
Kinkirk is probably the best defender to enter the league since last year’s Ron Artest impersonator, Ryan Jackson. This may all hold true except for one detail: Kinkirk is huge. He will undoubtedly be one of the top shotblocking rookies and should average a double double as a rookie with playing time. However, the GM that gets Kinkirk should expect a healthy amount of turnovers and no assists coming from this beast of a big man.
12- New Orleans Hornets (From ORL) | Sylvester Rollins PG 6'0'' 180 24 B- B+ C+ B- C+ B
Rollins might be the second most complete scorer coming into the draft against Morrison. He only drops in his draft for his perceived lack of potential and age which will probably hurt his stock and his wallet on draft night. Rollins will be bring his unique game at the point guard position and combine a little bit of old school with new school with his mid range and post up game. He is a smart, gritty player that could be a top point guard one day.
13- Milwaukee Bucks (From PHX) | Aaron Baer PF 6'10'' 260 21 C D F A- A- B
Baer comes up from the high remote area of Alaska, where little basketball products besides Carlos Boozer have come before. Baer already has ratings similar to Raman Mukopadhyay except without the lack of potential. Baer has no other real strengths though outside of his rebounding and defensive abilities but should still be a lotto pick because he could conceivable start for a big man starved team.
14- Milwaukee Bucks (From LAC) | Tuco Salamanca Jr. SF 6'5'' 250 21 B+ C- D+ C B A
Tuco stays in the lotto here because of his already top rated inside scoring grade. His rebounding is also among the best in the league’s draft pool and is already one of the quicker forwards among incoming rookies. His biggest flaws seem to be his lack of defense, passing and jump shot which may easily push him past a team in the top 10 depending on their needs.
