I know most of you don't care, but Id like to get some insight from you guys no only on what the Warriors need most but who would fit in best. I know the spects somewhat but I didn't watch as much college basketball this year so I'm a little out of the loop.
The Warriors had 3 big time problems this year.
Injuries.
Rebounding.
Defense.
Injuries cant be addressed obviously. Monta needs to be healthy(he should be). Jackson had a toe injury(should be good by next year). Biedrins missed time with ankle injuries(should be good next year). Maggette is just injury prone so he cant be counted on.
Rebounding was horrible, but with Randolph penciled in at PF and Azubuike seemingly the new starter at SF the rebounding should be better. All the starters are + rebounders IMO. (Biedrins-Randolph-Azubuike-Jackson-Ellis).
Defense has been a problem forever in Oakland. Biedrins is decent. Randolph is a great shot blocker and ball stealer but a poor man to man defender. Azubuike is ok, but not quick enough to guard lots of good wings. Jackson is their best defender. Ellis is pretty horrible despite great quickness. Turiaf is sick off the bench. Wright could be pretty good. Morrow is decent. Crawford is horrible.
Seems like they could really deal Wright, Belinelli, Maggette and Crawford just not sure it would bring much. Maggette has a horrible contract. Crawford has a nice big expiring but I doubt the Warriors would add long term salary. Wright and Belinelli probably both have some value, so maybe if we combine those 2 with Crawford we could get something of value, but the incoming salary would probably need to be short term.
Then in the front office is just chaos. Nelson seems to be in charge but Rowell the president is a total douche and cant really be trusted to do the right thing.
K, so thats the background. Im thinking what we need most is rebounding, defense or maybe another ball handler.
So based on this who should the Warriors take at 7, and more then that what are some ideas for trades that might make them better.
