I will give Crosby the nod as being the better all-around player, but I think there is no one as offensively gifted as Ovechkin. Yeah, I could've told you that before this series started though. He's the most aggressive, dangerous shooter in the game.

another thing about OV is that I don't think anyone else enjoys playing as much as he does.

Yeah, I never really understood what that means though. I think most elite players really just love playing the game. It's part of what makes them elite.
I know a lot of people have said in the past that Crosby takes everything too seriously, but he has been thrust into that position a bit. Everything I've heard about him says that he's one of the loosest, goofiest players on the team. However, he, like most hockey players, has conformed to the robot style of interviews.

What a game. That's why Malkin was the scoring champion and is simply world-class.

Well, Ovechkin should definitely be suspended. That's an incredibly dirty play. I highly doubt he is suspended because the league lacks the balls but he should at least be gone a game.
Ovechkin is a piece of shit. So far this series he has proven himself to be a whiner, a diver, and now a dirty player (although we've all already known that). No respect for that loser.

If a Penguin made a hit like that I'd definitely expect him to get suspended.

Expecting them to be suspended is different from calling them a piece of shit, diver, whiner, dirty player, etc.

It was a dirty play that put the Penguins top defenseman out for not only the game today but also likely for the series. A one game suspension would be a break for Ovechkin.

Completely different situations. James Harrison was overaggressive on a single play. Not really much a chance of injuring the dude. Plus, he went after James Harrison knee's. That's what he gets.
Ovechkin violated a rule in the rulebook that is suspendible. Gonchar is out for tonight's game and possibly longer. It was a cheap, dangerous play by a cheap, dangerous player.

Ok Gonchar is actually one of my favorite players ever......But lets be honest here. Ovechkin is a very physical player. He went to hit Gonchar and Gonchar got his whole body out of the way except for his leg. I mean watch the video.
Have you ever gone knee to knee with anyone? It fucking sucks horribly. Why would anyone do that willingly?
Sucks that Gonchar got hurt but to say that OV willingly threw his knee into gonchar's knee is just stupid. OV went to hit him...Gonchar tried to avoid the hit.

Ovechkin quite clearly stuck his leg out when he realized Gonchar was going to duck the check. It was a knee-to-knee hit. Intent isn't even the issue here. It's an illegal hit whether he intended to do it or not. Past precedent says he should be suspended but the league doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to do it. Sad, really. And Ovechkin has quite willingly taken runs at players in the past. He's a dirty player. You watch the video. Ovechkin sticks out his leg. The refs knew it was a dirty hit. The commentators knew it was a dirty hit. The players all know it was a dirty hit. Ovechkin knows it was a dirty hit. You're telling me that's the natural course of hitting someone? Right.

Look at your picture Maniac... OV's leg is even with his shoulder. Gonchars leg is extended out....

Look at your picture Maniac... OV's leg is even with his shoulder. Gonchars leg is extended out.... He obviously stuck his knee out. It was kneeing. They said it on every broadcast that it was kneeing. There is NO question that it was kneeing, which is quite illegal per NHL rules. It's that simple. He broke the rules but will get away with it. Doesn't matter. Pens are showing that they are the better team.
