Cause if you get 40 wins or make the playoffs, you know you have one more year of safety just in case rebuilding goes awry in some way, on the other hand, if you get a good lotto pick, or even a decent lotto pick top 10ish, you can add a nice young guy. Late lotto though is kinda a shitty position to be in, cause it's in between.

I guess, but i never have really been close to a CY so i'd prefer to be at 12 than 14 with 40 wins.
My rebuilds only last 1-2 years normally
