So for my birthday, my aunt told me she will take me to any MLB ballgame in any city this year. I live in Illinois, so I won't be going to Wrigley or the Cell. I don't have a huge favorite team, but I do like the Reds and the A's.
When I started thinking about stadiums, the first that popped into my head was Fenway. I was thinking maybe a Red Sox/A's matchup.
Any opinions/advice on what city/game to travel to? I'm pretty excited.

The A's are horribly uninteresting. So are the Reds. Go to Mets/Yankees or Yankees Red Sox. I'd say Yankees Red Sox at Fenway, that's probably insane.

That's true, last year. Maybe I don't care because I've seen Yankees-Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, but I think the environment at Fenway is probably a little better. If you care about seeing Yankee Stadium before it goes, then choose that.

Yeah, my dad's been to both and he thought Fenway was his greatest experience at a stadium in the league. That's what I'm leaning towards.

never been to Fenway but I hear it's terribly expensive and hard to get those tickets. But if there's no price limit, go for it.
Another great ballpark is the new Phillies one.. definitely doesn't have the history but it's a great place to watch a game.

There's always seats available at relatively cheap prices.

DONT GO TO OAKLAND!

I'd like to get to Yankee Stadium this year, since it is the final season, and I've never been.
Probably won't happen, though.

You don't have to make a trip to Yankee Stadium at all. It's just a ballpark. If you're a Yankee fan, then you buy into the stupid aura of the pinstripes bullshit and you need to go. But if you can only go to one game, I'd definitely go see Fenway, and Red Sox-Yankees would be the best environment.

Why not go there and see it, when you can go to fenway pretty much any other time.

yankee stadium.
I don't like baseball but i had a blast.
Will never forget the game, it was Diamondbacks vs. Yankees. Randy Johnson was pitching, must have been 6th or 7th inning and I always forget the kid, but it was his first game in the Majors with the Yankees, obviously facing Randy Johnson for the first time in his career, first pitch, first AB, homers the ball right out the park. Stadium went nuts.

If you go to Fenway, you see the monster, and it's insane. If you go to Yankee Stadium, you see a ballpark. Hey, if he buys into that history stuff, good for him. But, I've been to Yankee Stadium many times, and never once thought to myself "wow, this is where Babe Ruth played!" because it doesn't matter to a non-Yankee fan who isn't fifty. Fenway would be so amazing to see.

But to me, if your a baseball fan in general, you would want to go stadium that is in its last season, especially yankee stadium. But whatever. I am going to go, so yeah. I really want to go to the all star game, that would be cool. Home run Derby. shiitt

We need to get tickets for some part of the All Star game for sure. Lets go to the Home Run Derby/Softball game. I dig the softball game so much. We've got to go.

Great American Ballpark is nice but the Reds aren't worth going to see unless Homer Bailey or Johnny Cueto becomes a bad ass this year which isnt happening
