- Reds will be way better than last year, don't worry - Cubs choking this year will be no different than the last 100 years. - STFU everyone, Expos will easily win it all. Idiots. The Reds should be a lot better this year. They just looked like idiots at the plate for awhile because they struck out on a lot of garbage. When they finally started hitting the Dbacks ran down about every fly ball. I was hoping to get a W because I don't see us beating Haren unless Arroyo pitches a gem. 0-3 start start would suck

The Reds are terrible.

The Pirates actually look like a respectable baseball team tonight. They are stellar defensively, our rotation is young/talented, and the bullpen has played well (which is far and away their biggest question mark this season). I know it's only one game, and I certainly expect bad things still, but they looked great tonight. This is the first game in a while that the Bucco's have looked patient at the plate.

It must suck to root for these kinds of baseball teams. Season's so long, so much fun to be had, and they'll be done fast.

Yeah, but the satisfaction will be lovely when they do finally pull out a winning season. Plus, PNC Park is the nicest in baseball, so I have that going.

I'm Gorzo's biggest fan. Plus, LaRoche is on my fantasy team. Go Bucs.

I'm Gorzo's biggest fan. Plus, LaRoche is on my fantasy team. Go Bucs. I do have my reasons for optimism this year. The Central is god awful, this team has a strong 2/3/4, and Nate McClouth has the makings of a really good lead-off/CF'er. Like I said, my enthusiasm will probably be drowned in ten days, but oh well. I have to enjoy it while I can, haha.

The Reds always stay close until mid to late August because the Central is never any good so its easy to stay excited.
Votto Cueto Volquez Cordero will keep me interested for awhile if we have a bad start. Patterson looked good in CF today, but Griffey and Dunn looked SLOW.

is McCutchen going to be on the Bucs' ballclub this year?

And now the Pirates have become the Pirates. My optimism is gone for this season already.
McCutchen should come up fucking tomorrow.

Yeah Bedard improvised and made the best out of a bad situation. 1 ER in 5 innings isn't terrible, considering he threw 80 pitches in the first 3 innings.
Be happy ducky, be happy.

Felix has potential to be one of the best pitchers int he league. I just keep on waiting, waiting on Felix to be king.

Definitely... everyone thought he was going to break out after that Red Sox game in April last year. I want to see him take that next step

Very controlled and taking bad pitches instead of swinging. The freakin Dbacks caught everything we hit, that was annoying. We can win tomorrow. Arroyo looked great in the spring and our bats should be alive on Thursday. We started hitting Webb later on, but their D made up for it. Haren isnt as good as Webb, though he is good. Griffey has never looked worse in his life than today. His swing looked to be 20mph and was a golfer swing. The Reds will be a lot better this year. I think we will take the next 2.

Cubs are overrated as hell. Its going to be the Reds or the Brewers.

Scott (Kings) is also a Reds fan. We should have put more on the board when Webb fell apart but the Dback D was too much. I don't know if we have ever faced Haren so that scares me game 2 of the series. Griffey did look terrible today. I think the only reason why he ran for that fly ball Patterson easily had was because he hadn't done anything the entire game.
