What about all the negative stuff will said about this league, me and the GMs here? He gets a pass you have a crush on him? No, but seriously, why does he get a pass again? Um have any of the BBS GMs gone into NBN and become a #1 seed their first year? Didn't think so... (Not trying to bash BBS, but he proved he can be one of the best in BBS, yet no one from BBS has proved they could survive in NBN). Who has tried? I tried. Made the playoffs my first 2 years, completely lost interest and then quit. Thats it. Very few Gms want to join a league 30 years in. Many very good Gms have passed at joining the NBN because its too far along.

Ducky you are in over your head here man. He came in to a new league, with a creation draft, a lot of people can build through a creation draft it is not that hard especially when you have a top pick to get a player like Shaq. This is getting pretty annoying, stop backing him up when he did not do shit here. He "built" a great team, but that is all, maniac was the gm that won the ship. How am I over the top? Let's see before Will joined BBS, I remember hearing people all the time say that BBS > NBN because GMs are better. And that Will isn't that good of a GM. So, he comes to BBS, and in his first year, he proves he's one of the best here. And look at maniac/wills teams. Their DCs are nearly identical. Maniac made one trade which didn't mean shit anyway. So obviously Will just got some bad luck in his first round exit last year. Shit happens.

will did have a top pick in a creation draft and got the most dominant player in the league... he was going to have a top 4 team in either conference with shaq alone
he did a good job at building a foundation but saying he came in here and was a #1 seed wasn't nearly as hard as it sounds (especially with half the league tanking)

first of all, how can you base someone's GMing skills in 1 season. 2nd of all, he had the best record in BBS and therefore he was one of the best GMs that year

Hey idiot, I didn't bash his GM skills. You said on page 10 that Will didn't prove anything other than he had shaq and lost in the first round. Well, first of all, how can you base someone's GMing skills in 1 season. 2nd of all, he had the best record in BBS and therefore he was one of the best GMs that year. He built a team who will be on top for the next 4-5 years and probably will win a championship. And I don't know about you, but back 2 back #1 seeds is pretty good. And to have a team that will probably do that again next year. I'd say he's done a shitload more in one year, than you have ever done in your whole life, fucktard. Haha, you are such an unbelievable joke. The point I'm disagreeing with throughout this is that I ever said he isn't a good GM. You still haven't shown me that quote. So if you show me a quote where I say he hasn't proved anything (he was supposed to win, and he lost in round 1, and that was the context of the argument), that doesn't help your argument. Don't you realize that? Then you say, "Well, first of all, how can you base someone's GMing skills in 1 season". I DIDN'T. I DIDN'T CALL HIM A BAD GM. I said he hadn't proven anything yet (I'll take your word for me saying that, I haven't looked it up). So what are you talking about? "2nd of all, he had the best record in BBS and therefore he was one of the best GMs that year." To me, so much of that was because of Shaq, which was the result of a lucky bounce in the creation lotto. He did a really good job putting together other parts of the team around Shaq, but obviously the guy he had a chance to pick that almost no one else did helped him quite a bit, no? So yeah, he didn't prove anything the first season. Winning the most games in the East is a great accomplishment, but it was wiped out by a freak first round exit. He was on his way to proving himself this year (in BBS, I don't doubt he's proved himself elsewhere) but left. I'm sure he's a great GM. I don't honestly care one way or another. "And I don't know about you, but back 2 back #1 seeds is pretty good. And to have a team that will probably do that again next year. I'd say he's done a shitload more in one year, than you have ever done in your whole life, fucktard." Back to back #1 seeds is great. Unfortunately for your argument, the quotes you're taking from me are well before Philly had the best record in the east. And I credit Maniac immensely for picking up Bonzi. As for "what I've done", I only accumulated every pick in a single draft class, and was a huge reason the first BBS ENDED. Haha, fucktard, wow, Portland, wow.

I wanted Will, Tiger and Aar to join the BSB because they are top 5 guys, and would obviously increase the Gm quality of BBS. I never questioned how good of a GM Will was, few have. Id say only maybe 3 people have questioned Wills ability, but to say everyone in BBS is just retarded.

Ok, I apologize to Mark and to anyone else when I said plenty of the league said Will is a bad GM.
But here's my point. Before Will joined BBS, whenever his name was brought up in BBS, GMs would say he hasn't proven he's a good GM...
Well I'm pretty sure he did.
And until one of you guys can go in NBN and do what he did, Will > most BBS gms.

I'm sure the fact that it was the first year of a new league had nothing to do with someone "being able to come in" and putting up a top record, right? Don't manipulate any of the facts to try and fool anyone here, because you flat out aren't capable of that.

Maniac used pretty much the same DC as will with a few minor changes. So yeah 2 #1 seeds is good enough for me to say that GM is one of the best in that league.

"People said _____", but you don't provide the people (other than Martinez), and you don't provide the statements. Don't you realize that because of that, your argument holds no weight? And no one cares if Will is better than any of us. Will can be ten times the GM I am, I really could not care less. It means nothing to me. I honestly feel like the reason the "core" BBS GMs have trouble intermingling with the "NBN GMs" is because a lot of the NBN GMs take it VERY seriously. That isn't to say the "core" BBS GM's don't take it seriously, but this isn't THAT big of a deal for me (my performance).

Fine, he built a team in one year, that was the best in the league, and should be the best in the league for the next few years as long as the next GM in line don't fuck things up.

And tanking like crazy to land shitload of picks have a ton of cap space. Come on krup, you wouldn't last a day in NBN, that's all I'm saying. BBS is a great league, and one of the best out there. But the GM skills in NBN> Any league (BBS, global abca, uosl2, etc...). I've been in all those leagues, and NBN is the best set of GMs. And Will is a great GM, and it seems you guys don't give him a chance to prove himself, and when he came in and had the best record in the league, you guys still give him no credit.

This quote is funny to me because you say we cant judge anyone from 1 year, and then you go and judge Will based on 1 year.

There are like 15 NBN GMs in this league, so the other 14 guys are what brings this league down? Ha, are you serious? That includes Reilly, DJ, Dave, Hernando, and Outlawz?

Agreed, you lost the argument. Alright, I've got stuff to do tonight, happy this ended fast. How did I lose? Let's see, you got fucking lucky and landed Manu and AK in FA. How does that make you a good GM (Sort of like the argument of Will getting Shaq)? Will in one year = Best Record. Mark in his lifetime = Nothing.
