One night after a Giants game I got "arrested" in SF. I ended up unconscious in the hospital with a neck brace. 2 black eyes, bruises on my cheek and both sides. Fun night.

I'm in so much pain right now.
So I'm out on the dance floor, and all of a sudden I see some dude has my buddy Alan in a headlock. Now, Alan is a 5'5" chubby Chinese guy who doesn't really drink - he's had maybe two beers and there is absolutely no way he's causing shit. So I grab the dude who has him out of instinct, thinking that this guy is obviously some sort of punk. Next thing I know two bouncer slam me down onto the stage and wrench both of my arms behind my back like I'm being arrested. Left shoulder popped.
The worst part was the bouncers didn't even have an explanation for why they grabbed Alan. They said he threw a glass on the stage - but he wasn't fucking drinking. So now I got a fucked up shoulder and a blurry night cause some fuckface had too many HGH cocktails and felt like just fucking up some random guys.
Goddamn man.

I used to be a bouncer and we were told pretty much never get physical unless you absolutely have to so as to avoid lawsuits. If those guys just grabbed him/you without provocation I think you have a pretty nice lawsuit there. Long as you're absolutely sure your friend did'nt throw a drink on the stage.
But even then unless he looked like he was attacking someone I'm not sure that warrants being subdued physically.
If a bouncer grabbed him and you jumped on that bouncer though yea the others are gonna jump in.
It comes down to what happened with your friend I think.
Now be aware though, those guys are gonna more than likely stick together and any regulars that were there will sometimes,how do I say this, can be persuaded to not always tell the truth.
You're in Canada tho right? No idea how they look at that there tho.

To be honest Greg, while my friend wasn't drinking I was completely smashed, we had gone to the baseball game before so I was just in the bag. I don't remember much of what happened, but this is how the story has been described to me. It would greatly surprise me if my friend had done something like throw a glass, he's just really, really not that kind of guy.
Same time in any legal case it would just be our word against that of the bouncers, and I don't think that's a battle we can win.
Still trying to decide if I should go to the hospital or just tough it out. I'm most worried about how this injury is going to effect my flip cup ability for tonight, there's a housewarming kegger I gotta drive down to.
