Sucks to see them move, but I expect Seattle to get another NBA team within the next 6-7 years.

Were the Seattle fans just not supporting them? The issue was more about a potential new stadium... I don't think the city of Seattle wanted to fund the construction for one or something like that the support seemed fine

I'm sure that had something to do with support.

I'm sure that had something to do with support. Eh. They won 50 a few years back, then Nate ditched them, but they've always had pretty good fans. It was the stadium problems (they place in a piece of shit) +the owner's unwillingness to try to stay.

Oklahoma City/Tulsa seriously isn't meant for a sports franchise. This is going to be a pathetic bust after a few years of support. I don't care what the universtiy gets as far as fans. This is gonna fail.

I just hate when owners want to move after years of virtually no success.

In terms of attendance rankings based on stadium capacity, Seattle was ranked... 02-03: 14th 03-04: 11th 04-05: 8th 05-06: 9th 06-07: 15th 07-08: 25th sports.espn.go.com/nba/attendance?sort=home_pct&year=2008&seasonType=2Outside of the last season, those rankings are certainly not too bad, especially considering there wasn't a good product on the court. The problem is the stadium couldn't hold many people compared to most arenas

Seattle's also a much bigger media market than OKC. It's top fifteen in the country. It supports baseball and football. Bigger market with more money than OKC. Stupid move.

The new owner is a fucking homer idiot... if he thinks moving the team is even a good financial move he's crazy. I'm sure they could've worked out something for a new stadium if he was patient and waited until the lease for Key Arena expired (in like 2011 or 2012)

kinda sad for the die hard sonics fans but good for the league. How's it good for the league? good for the league because the city of Seattle has been a headache these past couple years. the city didnt want to pay to renovate Key Arena or give at least support for the Sonics to stay, so it's better they move on but OK city is hardly a good destination. At least Vegas could have been better.

The new owner is a fucking homer ignorant... if he thinks moving the team is even a good financial move he's crazy. I'm sure they could've worked out something for a new stadium if he was patient and waited until the lease for Key Arena expired (in like 2011 or 2012) I hate him. Pretty ridiculous that he lied in his testimony, claiming in his email that he was referring to staying in Seattle when he said he was a possessed man and would do whatever he could when he was clearly responding to whether or not they could be in OKC soon.
