It's so pathetic. Thanks, but I don't give a shit if he's chartering a plane or what DAY he'll be reinstated. Do I care that the owner visited him? No. Do I care that Brett Favre might take 20 million to retire, or might talk to the Buccaneers, or might not talk to them, or might or might not talk to the Jets, or might be traded within the division or might be the starting QB for the Packers?
It's all such bullshit. There's a new development everyday and nothing ever happens. One day he's gonna be dealt within the division, and the next they're gonna give him a chance to be the starting QB? The 'sources' are just throwing shit at ESPN and getting breaking news coverage everyday. It's pathetic. This is a non-story until something actually happens and everyday it gets treated like it's a big as Favre retiring. So damn annoying. I can't even click on ESPN.
And Favre is a fucking douche. The way he's acting, the threats he's making, his conditions about the teams he wants to go to and then he refuses to talk to the only two potential trade partners outside of the division? Guy is an attention whore and a baby. Much love, Brett.

So then why is this happening? Is ESPN getting legitimate reaction with this storyline? Because they obsess over it. It's the lead story on every ESPN news source there is. No other network or site exactly obsesses over it but to ESPN, it's the only story out there. And when my friends and I talk ports, it comes up exactly never.

I voted yes... I'm a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and I only care about this situation because he may or may not come to the Bucs.
I personally never liked Favre. I think he is overrated because many people consider him "The best QB of all time" I'd put him in the top 10, but not even top 5.
Favre is an idiot and I hope he stays retired... I think he's an upgrade over Jeff Garcia so if he does get traded I hope it's to the Bucs for something like a 6th round pick

I think he's an upgrade over Jeff Garcia so if he does get traded I hope it's to the Bucs for something like a 6th round pick This much I can relate to. The story interests me in one aspect: the talks with the Jets. However, it's obviously all hype. It was big news that they allowed him to talk, and look what happens...he refuses to! Same with TB, and yet it's a massive story at every turn. I feel like we're just being taken for a ride and it will end with Favre starting for GB and every stupid turn is a way for ESPN to invent stories. I thought Favre was brilliant last season so I shy away from saying this, but before last season, no chance I put him in my top 5 among CURRENT QBs. That doesn't mean he isn't a top QB all-time (I agree with top ten, though towards the back end of it), but he was so unimpressive for so long. He'd essentially been a chucker and he forces so many passes. I wouldn't trust him running my team's offense when it matters, and I think there are much smarter QBs out there, and some of them have his arm anyway. Last season, he was ridiculously good most of the time, so again, I do think he's an awesome addition to any team with the right talent, but realistically, he's not the best QB in the league, and he'd have to adjust to a new line, new receivers and possibly a new system...but all we get is the fact that the Packers let Favre talk to some team and we're supposed to shit our pants like ESPN does? Then of course it turns out he won't talk...whole thing honestly should just embarrass ESPN.

I quit watching becuase I was too pissed at both sides for being idiots. It made it easy to just look on espn.com and see the headline of what happened everyday but this was way overblown. Favre finally had a good team around him when he wasn't capable of carrying the team anymore and looked great (easily #3 best QB according to afternoon blitz rankings which is by far the best nfl show out there imo... its on sirius in the afternoon obviously). There is no way Favre should go to a team that isn't running WCO (Jets) because it is the only offense he has ever run and will be average at best in another system imo.
I hope you are looking forward to about 5 updates a day on who is looking better in practice and such for the next 2 weeks.

No. Only time I cared was when he was allowed to talk to the Jets. Now it is all bullshit and he does not want to go there. So fuck him and everyone else at espn for getting me excited.

I know I'm not in this league (although I'm thinking about joining the waiting list), but I had to register to weigh in on this topic.
My entire life, I've been a diehard Packers fan, and Brett Favre has been my hero. When he retired and everyone around here cried for him to come back, I prayed that he wouldn't. He has, and I've lost all respect for him. Most people I know who have been lifelong Brett-lovers feel the same way. We're sick of hearing all the bullshit on ESPN, and on top of that, we have local stations who cover it 24/7. Plus I couldn't even watch the "family night" game tonight without constant updates on where Favre was in the air. Our local FOX station had a flighttracker on the screen of where in the air his plane was. It was pathetic.
So basically most people here in Wisconsin just want him to stop all this, he's ruined his legacy and I'm ashamed to be a Packers fan right now. BRETT GO AWAY, YOU'RE JUST MAKING EVERYONE HATE YOU. Makes me sick to think all these years were just a lie.

I've been tired of Favre for at least 3 years. He's pulled I'm not sure if I'm coming back or not crap that long. THIS year he said the ok I'm done...wait, I am coming back BS.
And I like to read Peter King but talk about a man crush damn, every week for the last I dont know 2 or 3 years at least he has to get Favre in his column somehow.
I'm sick of him. He's always been overated to me. He'll make a bonehead play when his team cant afford it and lose the game. Like last yrs playoffs for example when he just basically threw the ball up for grabs and killed the Packs cchance of a comeback. He's consistently done that crap.
The reason Brady,Montana,Aikman and others that are'nt popping into my head right now won multiple SB's are because they did'nt throw interceptions in big games usually. The only QB that comes to mind that won in spite of that was Bradshaw, but he had such a good deep ball he bailed himself out with it.
Trade his ass or something and be done with it,damn. Of course then we're gonna get the how Favre's doing reports. I'm so tired of Brett goddamn Favre.

as much as I hate Favre... I think he's exactly what Tampa Bay needs not only just for the "standings" sake, but also for the state of the franchise as a whole.
