starting in 65 would be cool but randomizing would be even better.. but from the start of the nba.. having bird come out one year and the next season is the lebron draft.. i think that would be better and keep things interesting.. i always wanted to see something like that..

It sounds cool, but I'd rather it not be BBS. If we're going to go retro fine, but I'd much prefer Spence's idea of starting in the 60s or whenever rather than having the randomized draft classes.

Well arent you lucky. Apologies for telling you what leagues I'm in. I forgot the thread wasn't titled 'what other leagues are you in?' I was just saying that youre in 2 very good leagues. But good of you to take it the absolute wrong way.

I don't get why you guys don't want randomize draft classes? What's the fun of having the same monotonous draft class season after season after season.

I like Duckys ability to make draft files I just think he overloads himself and it prevents him from doing better. I mean he does the NBN file, UOSL and hes in too many leagues. If he concentrated on 1 league and simming for 1 leagues he'd do really well IMO. Yeah that's probably the biggest problem with me. Sim leagues are so fun that I love participating in them. I've actually considering not running another another league after UOSL2. I just don't have the same drive as I usually do. GMing is funner than commishing anyway. And everyone can have their opinion on my draft files. But I've never seen aaronjh make a draft file so I can't see why he's talking shit. My files seem fine to me. I think I have to hurry lots of my draft files because I'm in many leagues. But the overall quality of each of my files seems fine to me, and I'm pretty sure most of the GMs in my league would agree

I suggested randomizing drafts a long long time ago.

I'd still like to hear what reasons people have as to NOT wanting randomized draft classes.

The reason why we SHOULD randomize is that way we won't know who is coming out 3 years down the road. In 1970 they did not know Bird and Magic were coming out several years down the line. Thus they could not plan for it so far in advance. I think the draft classes should be announced 3 years ahead of time.

I'd still like to hear what reasons people have as to NOT wanting randomized draft classes. To me, "Wilt vs. Shaq!" is not appealing to me. I don't really care about that. I'd much prefer starting in the 60s and working our way through the eras. That would be cool to me. As I said, I think randomizing draft classes is too gimmicky and I personally wouldn't want BBS to be like that. It seems like the type of idea of a sim that I'd get an IM for, join for 3 weeks and then quit (meaning, it's something I feel like I would see in some random sim league).

I'm not a fan of randomizing drafts for similar reasons to Mark.
