I'd still like to hear what reasons people have as to NOT wanting randomized draft classes. To me, "Wilt vs. Shaq!" is not appealing to me. I don't really care about that. I'd much prefer starting in the 60s and working our way through the eras. That would be cool to me. As I said, I think randomizing draft classes is too gimmicky and I personally wouldn't want BBS to be like that. It seems like the type of idea of a sim that I'd get an IM for, join for 3 weeks and then quit (meaning, it's something I feel like I would see in some random sim league). I disagree. I think there's more intrigue because like Jah said, you never know which draft class you're going to get. This, in a way, will also hurt tanking teams because let's say you get a poor draft class, like I think that Larry Johnson draft class where other than LJ, Mutombo, and I think Terrell Brandon the rest of the players all turned out to be mediocre to bust type players.

The reason why we SHOULD randomize is that way we won't know who is coming out 3 years down the road. In 1970 they did not know Bird and Magic were coming out several years down the line. Thus they could not plan for it so far in advance. I think the draft classes should be announced 3 years ahead of time. There's no reason why we can't let Bird leave school two seasons early, or keep Magic in school an extra year. There are ways to avoid that problem without doing something so outlandish.

I like the realism of actual draft classes in actual years. I think the predictability of drafts is overblown. There is virtually no predictability. mean look at this version of BBS. Who is better, Paul Pierce or Kobe Bryant? Obviously PP has had a better BBS career, but Kobe was the #1 pick. You just never know. And look at Q. He was and still is an absolute stud. Who woulda thought? I mean the players will always vary.
