Group B: "The Answer is NO"
10 Tracy McGrady SF 23 6'8'' 223 A- A- C+ B C A
McGrady is basically a better version of Vince Carter with more potential and 2 years younger. He isn’t a better scorer than his cousin yet, but he will be soon. The Raptors passed up on Shaquille O’Neal during the leagues inaugural draft which alone states something about how much Toronto value him without even going into the talent debate.
9 Baron Davis PG 23 6'3'' 210 B- B+ A B C B
Baron is currently averaging 11.6apg. He has A handles and B+ outside at only 23 years of age and the Commish is a massive Warriors fan. Need I go on?
8 Elton Brand PF 23 6'8'' 260 A- C- C A- B+ B
Only 23 years of age, already a dynamic low post presence and one of only few dominant power forwards in the BBS today. Brand should end up being an A- C C A A player in his prime, one that will obviously catapult him into stardom. It was very hard to leave him out of the top 5.
7 Yao Ming C 21 7'6'' 310 B C C A- B A
Standing at 7’6” at only 21 years of age with a lot of potential left in the tank, Ming will be a force to be reckoned with in the BBS for many years to come. His defensive presence and low post scoring ability coupled with the potential to develop into the most dominant center ever since Shaquille O’Neal makes Ming one of the leagues most valuable players.
6 Dirk Nowitzki SF 24 7'0'' 250 B+ A- C B B- B
Dirk’s age, potential, height, outside shot, flexibility and versatility rank him ahead of Yao Ming and Elton Brand on this list. He is a forceful scorer who can take big men out to the 3 point line or post up smaller forwards in the post. With a few defensive camps under his belt, Nowitzki will be a legitimate MVP candidate.
Group A: "Completely and Utterly Untouchable"
5 Shaquille O'Neal C 30 7'1'' 325 A D C A A C
Shaq would rank number 1 if a playoff team was conducting these rankings and probably between 15-20 if a rebuilding team was. As I’m staying neutral here, I’m placing him at 5. He has 1 ring under his belt as well as 2 MVP awards. He is a proven winner and made Utah title favourites even before he stepped put on a Jazz jersey. He is one of the most dominant players to ever grace the hardwood and still has a few more years left in the tank in the BBS.
4 Dwyane Wade SG 20 6'4'' 210 A- C+ C+ B- C- A
This guy was ear marked as a 30ppg player even before he was drafted. Some may argue with his position as a top 5 player however he is a do it all guard who can play 2 positions. He is a guy who can score and pass as well as play tormenting defense. At only 20 years of age and the youngest player in the top 10, Wade is virtually untouchable.
3 Tim Duncan C 26 7'0'' 260 A- C- C+ A+ B+ C
Duncan won’t move anywhere. He is the best defender in the league, a nasty rebounder and a 28ppg player. He is only 26 and is winning games in San Antonio. He has 8+ years left of dominance and should provide the Spurs with a lot more wins and potentially, a championship.
2 Kevin Garnett SF 26 6'11'' 220 A B- C+ A A- B
KG’s inside game is unmatched. He is versatile, deadly at the block and has a very dangerous mid-range game. He is a great passer and a super defender and splitting him and Kobe for 1 was very tough.
1 Kobe Bryant SG 24 6'7'' 210 A- B+ B- B C B
Maybe he is completely and utterly untouchable because his Celtics are managed by Keelty, however even if it were managed by Skillz, KB8 would still be the leagues most desirable player. He is lethal with the ball on offense and is also an amazingd efender even at 24 years of age. There is nothing more I can say about him.
