Is BBS what it used to be for you? Has BBS already experienced its best days?
It's still highly enjoyable for me and it's still one of the first sites I check when I get online after school or in the morning on weekends. I love participating in good sims, and BBS is one of the best out there, if not the best, and so I really enjoy it. As for experiencing its best days, that's tough to say, we'll have to see.
Who has been getting on your nerves lately (Martinez and YB are not valid answers, give me something that I might not be able to guess)?
Ducky, because he won't give me Cousins.
Pig recently said, “I miss old BBS with the old GM's, I apologize but I hate these new guys,” in his “My Situation” thread. Is the (negative) impact of the new GMs overblown?
Eh, it's a bit overblown, but I do agree that guys like Andy, Reilly, and A2J are really missed. I think Derwin has been a solid GM, so I don't mind him, and Jay's doing a solid job, he's just not as active as most of the other GM's. Slim has been so-so thus far, and YB has been mediocre. The thing is, we don't mis the activity of A2J, Andy, Reilly, etc. They were a lot of fun to banter with, and that's gone in a way now, because while the new guys aren't awful, they're just not as entertaining or fun to talk to.
On September 19, Pig said, “I have never until now been more optimistic and excited about any franchise of mine since Kobe-Ricky Davis-Granger-Bogut-Curry team from the last BBS,” after dealing Durant. He then proceeded to make 5 more trades from the 19th of September through October 10. Yet, yesterday he said, “I'm a hassle to talk trade with because odds are I don't want to talk about trades and it shows with no one even trying to contact me about any thing on my team in weeks,” in his “My Situation” thread. What do you make of this? Feel free to tell him that his players aren’t that good which is why no one is trying to trade for them.
Pig has always been a pretty on and off type guy in terms of activity, interest, and desire in BBS. When he's active and puts forth his best effort, he's one of the better GM's in the league. But, there are those periods of time where he's just not very good, and doesn't participate. I think that he needs to make some trades and either get a young star to build around or try to make a run for a title soon. That's the way to re-gain interest. I know for me, I love to follow Stephen Curry's stats. He's my franchise player, and even though I am trying to hit 40 this year, I'm also trying to get him to do as well as possible. I personally like some of Pig's players, so I don't think the players are bad, I think he just needs to be more responsive to trade talks and be more proactive.
Outlawz has recently gone after Derwin for the way he behaved on the forums for a few weeks. Outlawz said something along the lines of if Derwin was not friends with Aaron’s crew then he would have taken a ton of a shit for how he was acting. Do you think this is true? Did you even notice this?
Didn't notice it much honestly. I noticed a few comments, but nothing worse then most people have said at one point or another.
Who are the top-5 GMs in your opinion? Who are the bottom 5 GMs?
Top 5:
1 - Outlawz - his ability to consistently put together great teams is amazing.
2 - Dave - He's not far behind Outlawz.
3 - Mark - Knows how to build a winner.
4 - Nanz - Impressed me a lot with the team he put together.
5 - Dan - he's won a ring and has put together a nice team.
Bottom 5:
5 - Donatello - Like the guy, but he's WAY too complacent and overvalues his players a ridiculous amount.
4 - AllStar - Don't like him, think he's a mediocre GM, and the fact that he never seems to try to put together a winner is pathetic.
3 - Marty - Too complacent, not proactive enough in trading, seems content to just field middle-of-the pack teams.
2 - YB - Inexperienced and hasn't yet adjusted to the competition level in BBS.
1 - Greg - I like Greg, but he's just not a very good GM. He has his moments where I think he's finally getting it together and putting together a nice team or a nice future, but then he makes a trade that makes me scratch my head. I really hope he survives the contract year though.
Who is the most overrated GM in the league?
DJ. He hasn't done a thing in this BBS other then be lucky in the lottery and make good picks. He seemingly never tries to compete.
Will Spence sim during his honeymoon?
No. Lady Spence won't let him.
Thanks nova! Yee.
