So, I was looking at the team performance history page and think that it is really under-utilized. In fact, the page basically sums up the success of every franchise in BBS2000. I'm considering making a formula to rank the performance of each team, and probably will use a formula similar to how you rank players on Excel. For example, Championships would be the biggest factor, followed by Finals Appearances, Playoff winning %, playoff appearances.
What do you guys think of this? I think it could add a great element to BBS, I could release it every year and would really show where each franchise stands. If anyone is really interested in helping me with this, feel free to let me know.

the only thing that may be a bit skewed is those of us GMs that have switched teams and/or inherited a team from a previous GM i.e. Nanz, Andrew, jay, jb, captain, etc

It'd be sick but yeah, Martinez is right. Maybe you could do two different versions: one with every season in BBS, the other with every season of the current GM of the team. It probably wouldn't take any longer as long as you already developed the equation.

I like the idea. I don't see how it will work out fairly unless you grade the GM and not the franchise. If you broke a franchise down into multiple GMs wouldn't their total success be divided amongst them. I may be completely misunderstanding what you want to do though.
Developing a formula and take their average for seasons they were a GM could work. You could be positive or negative (kind of like ESPN's Fantasy Player Rankings). You wouldn't have to be negative I suppose.

yeah but how did you separate those teams that have had multiple GMs?

I did it from 2000-2016. I can break it down within each year if I get the information of when GMs took over I think. The only problem to this is I don't know how I would find past playoff records. I know in the team history section it shows every record, but can I find playoff wins/losses from 10 years ago or so?

1 point for every regular season win 3 points for every playoff win 10 points for every playoff appearance 25 points for every finals appearance 50 points for every championship = overall power rankings. I've got a formula, it's somewhat along those lines except i incorporated a few different things. I'm moving back to school today, but I'm excited to show everyone the spreadsheet.

Ok, well when I get settled in at school I'm going to try to send everyone the draft spreadsheet to critique it. I honestly think it's pretty damn good, but want all the opinions I can get, because this can become very cool.
Does anyone know the best way I can do this to show everyone the spreadsheet? They don't necessarily HAVE to see it in Excel, but then you can see my formulas more in-depth.

and I don't think you answered the question but did you take into account GM changes or no?
I did answer it somewhat, I don't know if the information is available to do that. I know I can go back and look at regular season records, but I need playoff records to.

looking at the excel sheet now and some surprising stuff.. Krupinski was so dominant that he's still #3 according to Ebener's formula pretty sick.
I'm going to help him by sorting things out by GMs
