Strength: Soft touch around the rim. Baby hook is his deadliest weapon. Great footwork. Very effective from the high post... very effective from 15-20 feet, and can pass out of the post as well. 89% FT shooter. Very mature for his age. He's good for taking at least one charge a game. Smart defender. Emotional leader of BYU's basketball team... lead them to two consecutive Sweet 16 appearances.
Weakness: Very average athletically. Will never be a threat as a shotblocker. Has struggled against athletic big men on both ends of the court. Vulnerable to versatile bigs that can play face up. Gets overpowered by stronger bigs. Often outmuscled on the glass.
Ironic considering his last name, Stoner is a Mormon. He served a 2 year mission immediately after his high school graduation. Scouts think he'll maximize his talent because of his maturity and work ethic but his upside might be limited.
