First off, Good luck to everyone this year. Its gonna be tough.
1. Utah - Jamal Jenkins PG - He's already one of the better rated PGs in the league as a rookie and he should get better. The Jazz just need the best talent available, and while they could go a couple of different directions, Jenkins looks like he should be the best player taken in this draft.
2. Chicago - Brody Masterson C - A big man like Masterson is pretty rare. Already a great rebounder and solid inside scorer, Masterson should be one of the better centers in the league. Not great defensively, he should develop into a B+ type guy.
3. New York - LaDon Wachter PG - Wachter is a very good scorer and defender, that might be better suited for SG. If he is developed correctly he could play 1, but regardless he is a very good young player that should fit in with New Yorks plan to add great defenders.
4. Milwaukee - Ben Gates PG - Gates is a great ball handler and defender that cant score. Gates is so good at what he does that his utter lack of offense wont stop him from going top 5. His size at PG should also be intriguing.
5. LA Clippers(from New Orleans) - Diego Alvarez PF - Alvarez is a great scorer who can also board pretty well. His game is fashioned after Dirk Nowitzki and only his lack of defense will push him all the way to 5.
6. LA Clippers - Dmitri Maximov SG - Maximov is a great shooter with great upside. A Maximo-Alvarez combination would be downright nasty offensively.
7. Las Vegas - Kenny Irish SF - The Rebels have a great collection of multi purpose layers and Irish is just that. While he isnt great offensively, he is a player that has the ability to get better. He should be an extremely balanced pro.
8. Seattle(from Atlanta) - Sam Hyde C - Hyde might go a little higher because of his size and of course because he's a center. With the lack of big men in BBS, Hyde should start as a rookie. Hyde has upside so a B+ B+ B+ player isn't out of the question here.
9. Denver - David Abernathy PG - Abernathy is a cocky competitor with a solid game. Some scouts have come away soured by his attitude, while others don't care.
10. Toronto - Ryan Jackson SG - The Raptors don't need another wing, but they cant pass on a A+ defender at 10. Jackson wont become an elite scorer, but he'll score enough to compliment his outstanding defense.
11. Houston(from Golden State) - Kenny Hardaway SG - Hardaway is a nice scorer with the ability to play 2 or 3. The Rockets could use a big time scorer, and Hardaway might just be it.
12. LA Clippers(from Houston) - Stephon McXavier SF - The Clippers need to add some defense after getting some big time offensive players earlier. McXavier can defend and score inside. He should be a solid compliment to Alvarez and Maximov.
13. Washington - Jack Russell SG - The Wizards need to get some youth with upside for the future, and a player like Russell is a perfect fit. Not only does he have the upside to be a potential 25 PPG guy in the future he can come in right away and give solid minutes at the SG spot.
