1. Utah Jazz- Jamal Jenkins PG 6'3'' 195 21 C+ B+ B+ C+ C- A
Jenkins is definitely the best prospect in this draft. He isn’t a need for the Jazz because of Chandler Maloney, but he is simply the best prospect available.
2. Chicago Bulls- Brody Masterson C 7'0'' 285 20 B- D+ D+ B- B+ A
The Bulls have nothing to build around and will be in a 3 year rebuild. Masterson plays a premium position and would be a starter on most team from Day 1. He is a great pick for the Bulls.
3. New York Knicks- Diego Alvarez PF 6'10'' 225 21 C+ B+ B C C+ A
Outlawz has already put together a great core in his one-year rebuild. Alvarez will be a great addition and likely the team’s premier scorer within the next 3 years. His defense may be a concern, but he is does everything else well enough for him to be selected at this pick. He could easily go higher.
4. Milwaukee Bucks- Brynn Marshall SF 6'8'' 225 22 C B B C+ B- A
Marshall will be happy and not hold out playing because he is going to the Eastern Conference. He is capable of playing 4 positions and could start from day 1 for the Bucks. There is no doubt he won’t get at least starter minutes as a rookie as a supersub.
5. Los Angeles Clippers (from Hornets)- Sam Hyde C 7'1'' 282 22 B D- D- B B A
Hyde is one of the most polished players entering the draft and could go anywhere in the top 5. His age and handles will be a major cause for concern. There also has to be concern of how much potential he still has left at the age of 22.
6. Los Angeles Clippers- Reggie Yates PF 6'10'' 250 22 B B- B- B B C
The Clippers need immediate impact because they don’t have their picks for the next few years. No one can provide this better than Yates. He likely won’t become a great player, but he will be the type of player every contending team covets.
7. Las Vegas Rebels- Nicholas Phoenix SG 6'4'' 200 20 B C C+ C+ C+ A
The Rebels desperately need youth on the wing. Phoenix is a boom or bust prospect, but he is too good to pass up at this point.
8. Seattle SuperSonics (from Hawks)- David Abernathy PG 6'2'' 175 22 C+ B B C+ D A
The Sonics need to restock their talent at PG and Abernathy will be at least a good starting PG. He is definitely a better prospect and upgrade over Hakin Alexander.
9. Denver Nuggets- Ben Gates PG 6'3'' 239 21 C- C- B+ B+ C+ A
Gates is a great fit for the Nuggets. They already have enough scorers to not need an offensive minded PG. He will cut down their turnovers, better their backcourt defense, and get all of their scorers more involved.
10. Toronto Raptors- Darius Hamilton SF 6'9'' 230 19 B C+ A- C- C- A
Hamilton isn’t an immediate need for the Raptors but he is the type of prospect DJ loves. If he has any potential at all he could be a total stud and an upgrade over any of his wings. IF he isn’t DJ can start tanking again for 3 more years.
11. Houston Rockets (from Warriors)- Stephon McXavier SF 6'8'' 220 21 B+ C C B C+ B
Greg likes to play things safe and McXavier is a very safe pick at this point in the draft. He will be a guy who can start early and maybe develop into a very good player.
12. Washington Wizards- Jack Russell SG 6'2'' 215 20 B+ C+ D B- C- A
He has very similar ratings to Austin Brock as a prospect. This makes him tempting to take anywhere after the elite prospects, but D handles and a small stature will cause him to fall as the draft approaches.
13. Los Angeles Clippers (from Rockets)- Cameron Williams SG 6'4'' 202 22 C+ B C B C A
Williams is a prospect who can go anywhere outside of the top half of the lotto. He could be a great player for the Clippers one day. He should at least be a backup as a rookie.
