1. LA Clippers - Jamal Jenkins PG 6'3'' 195 21 C+ B+ B+ C+ C- A
The consensus #1 pick. Jenkins is a very good offensive guard who loves to pass. He should be the PG of the future for LA. Although they are stacked at that position, Galo should find ways to ship them off for a SG and/or bigs.
Grade: A+
2. Denver - Brody Masterson C 7'0'' 285 20 B- D+ D+ B- B+ A
The second best prospect in the draft. Brody has legit size for a center who can score, defend, and rebound. He is BBS ready and should start immediately.
Grade: A+
3. Utah - Dmitri Maximov SG 6'7'' 190 20 C B+ C C+ C A
The best shooter in the draft. Dmitri can score from anywhere on the court and should become an elite scorer someday. But this was a questionable pick for Utah. They already have Whitehouse at SG...but I guess Andrew's love for outside shooting was undeniable.
Grade: B
4. Chicago - Diego Alvarez PF 6'10'' 225 21 C+ B+ B C C+ A
Nice pick for Andy. Diego is a top 3 talent in this draft. He can score, handle, and rebound. Defense is the only issue but Chicago is rebuilding so Diego has time to improve.
Grade: A
5. Milwaukee - LaDon Wachter PG 6'2'' 178 22 C B+ C+ B+ D+ A
The second best PG in the draft. Milwaukee needed another guard and they draft one who can play both off guard and point. He can shoot and defend but must improve his handles if he wants to become a true Point Guard someday.
Grade: B+
6. New York - Ben Gates PG 6'3'' 239 21 C- C- B+ B+ C+ A
Knicks go with the most physical PG in the draft. Gates doesn't have an offensive game but he can handle, defend, and rebound for his size. I liked this pick although it was not a need considering how many PG's the Knicks have. The physical game of Gates should remind the Knicks of Derrick Rose a little bit.
Grade: A-
7. LA Clippers - Sam Hyde C 7'1'' 282 22 B D- D- B B A
Great pick here. After selecting Jenkins at #1, the Clippers pick the second best center in the draft in Hyde. He comes in with an intimidating offensive game and has the potential to become a good defender and rebounder. I really like this pick here.
Grade - A
8. Las Vegas - Kenny Hardaway SG 6'7'' 190 19 C+ A- C+ C+ C B
LV needed another SG and they draft a good one in Hardaway. He is all about scoring whose game kind of reminds me of a Kevin Martin. He was a very good college player and should translate well into the BBS. Great selection here.
Grade: A
9. San Antonio - Ryan Jackson SG 6'9'' 210 21 C+ C+ C+ A+ C+ B
The Spurs traded for this pick to select the illest defender the BBS has ever seen in a draft. His game is all about defense but can do a little bit of everything else as well. This was one of my favorite picks here.
Grade: A
10. Toronto - Jack Russell SG 6'2'' 215 20 B+ C+ D B- C- A
Toronto goes with an undersized SG in Russell who can score..but that's it. His lack of size will hurt him in the BBS and should come off the bench. Toronto needs all the help they need to survive the CY but I'm not sure if Russell is the answer. They should have traded this pick for a vet.
Grade: B-
11. Memphis - Reggie Yates PF 6'10'' 250 22 B B- B- B B C
Memphis needed a PF and they draft a very intriguing one in Yates. His game is very versatile and should help Memphis in many ways. However, the only thing holding him back is motivation. If he hires a sexy counselor and gets a nice clean blow job, then he could turn out a stud.
Grade: A-
12. LA Clippers - Stephon McXavier SF 6'8'' 220 21 B+ C C B C+ B
Solid pick here although I thought drafting Swann was a better idea considering their lack of depth at SG. But McXavier is an amazing wing inside scorer who can also defend and rebound. He is one of the BBS ready players in the draft and could start from day 1.
Grade - B+
13. Washington - Kenny Irish SF 6'6'' 245 23 C+ C B- C+ C+ A
The top SF in the draft finally gets selected at the end of the lotto. Irish brings a versatile game that reminds scouts of a Karron Johnson. He was projected to go in the top 8 but he falls into JAH's lap. If he pans out, then this pick is a huge steal for Washington.
