The Top 10
1. Seattle Supersonics (11-4) - Averaged 118 points per game. Kanauskas and Henry both shot over 50% from the floor and while they don't play much defense, they could be the highest scoring sf/sg duo in the entire league.
2. New York Knicks (10-4) - Dexter Strickland was a massive addition to this squad. He gives them a legit number one option and he also plays defense. Thomas Foster looks like a strong candidate for rookie of the year as he averaged 16ppg and 6 rbs on 57% shooting.
3. Portland Trailblazers (10-4) - Averaged an impressive 11.5 steals per contest. Ellis and Lavoie both averaged 22+ ppg. Denton looks to be a gamer, but this team may need to cut down on turnovers in order to win during the regular season.
4. Los Angeles Lakers (9-4) - The defending Champs look solid once again. averaging a sultry 120ppg. Ross and Davidson form the best back court in the league, while Beasley, Motiejunas and Sanford make for a very strong scoring front court.
5. Toronto Raptors (10-5) - Boynton showed his ability to play point during the preseason, giving the Raptors even more versatility on their roster. Jack Russell looked impressive as the starting Sg, dropping 12ppg on 51% shooting to go along with 1 block per game.
6. Memphis Grizzlies (10-7) - Rose looks like he's in line to make another run at MVP. Jatoba could finally start to earn some of that max money he is getting paid as he looked very good in preseason. Yates is a rookie to keep an eye on.
7. Miami Heat (9-5) - A strong starting five looks to carry this team into the playoffs once again. Oden showed that he can still be an elite center, dropping 26 and 10 . Depth may be an issue over the long haul, but this team is still dangerous.
8. Boston Celtics (9-5) - At 35 years of age, Lebron is still an imposing presence. This team possesses a very solid starting 5 and a decent bench. If Edwards can be the dominating interior defender the Celts believe he can be, this team should make the playoffs. Taylor may be one of the more under rated players in the game today.
9. Orlando Magic (9-7) - Should be a great defensive squad this season. Howard and Ibaka are both tremendous interior defenders while Delvon Roe is exceptional on the perimeter.
10. New Jersey Nets (5-3) - Only played 8 games but looked very good. They possess a great, young Pf/C combo in Camby and Joffer. McGahee is a true number one option and QAJ and Machata round out this teams dynamic starting five.
