Since CC was an idiot and graded the lotto before TC I thought this was appropriate.
1. LA Clippers - Jamal Jenkins PG 6'3'' 195 21 C+ B+ B+ C+ C- A
Jamal Jenkins PG 21 6'3'' 195 C+ A- A- B- C- A
It only took Galo about 20 hours to realize this guy was the consensus 1 pick. Jenkins doesn't look like he is going to be an extreme TO prone PG. This was the only concern on him and with it out of the way it is safe to say that Jenkins is going to be the next elite PG in BBS.
Grade: B (grade dropped a letter day per day late)
2. Denver - Brody Masterson C 7'0'' 285 20 B- D+ D+ B- B+ A
Brody Masterson C 20 7'0'' 285 B- D+ C- B- A- A
Masterson looks like he could be dominant big someday and fit what Denver needs. He was the right pick for this team before the loss of Bobo. Either way the Nuggets got a great center prospect and future piece to start next to Rory Davis.
Grade: A
3. Utah - Dmitri Maximov SG 6'7'' 190 20 C B+ C C+ C A
Dmitri Maximov SG 20 6'7'' 190 C A- C B- C A
I definitely thought this was a big reach by Andrew. Maximov may end up being the best player of the people he could consider for this pick, but based off of the notes Alvarez was definitely the 3rd best player in this draft.
Grade: C
4. Chicago - Diego Alvarez PF 6'10'' 225 21 C+ B+ B C C+ A
Diego Alvarez PF 21 6'10'' 225 B- A-B+ C C+ A
Alvarez's defense may have hurt his draft stock, but it was obvious he would be a future stud scorer. He is in the mold of Michael Beasley and will be a star in Chicago for a long time. Andy is a bitch for taking him a pick ahead of me.
Grade: A
5. Milwaukee - LaDon Wachter PG 6'2'' 178 22 C B+ C+ B+ D+ A
LaDon Wachter PG 22 6'2'' 178 C A- C+ B+ D+ B
Wachter was labeled as a 'safe top 5 pick'. He will easily contribute from Day 1 on about any team in the league. How much better he gets is yet to be seen. At the time, the Bucks could have lost either Daniels or Ballantyne to FA. Wachter could have came in and started from Day 1. Since both are back, Wachter will be a primary backup for the Bucks for the foreseeable future.
Grade: B
6. New York - Ben Gates PG 6'3'' 239 21 C- C- B+ B+ C+ A
Ben Gates PG 21 6'3'' 239 C- C B+ B+ C+ B
Gates is one of the most interesting prospects we have ever had in BBS. He is ready to start from day 1 for a high powered offensive team. His minutes will always lack because people who are as bad as he is on offense normally see less minutes in FBB. He was the only player worth picking here for Outlawz and is the type of player he can build a very successful team around. Gates didn't get any time in preseason, but he will more than likely start for the Knicks this season.
Grade: B
7. LA Clippers - Sam Hyde C 7'1'' 282 22 B D- D- B B A
Sam Hyde C 22 7'1'' 282 B- D-D B- B A
Hyde had concerning draft notes despite his ratings. It is hard to blame Galo for this pick since he definitely looked like the by far the best available at this pick. Hyde had descent production in preseason, but at this point he looks like he is going to be a complete bust.
Grade: C
8. Las Vegas - Kenny Hardaway SG 6'7'' 190 19 C+ A- C+ C+ C B
Kenny Hardaway SG 19 6'7'' 190 C+ A- C+ B- C A
Hardaway was one of my favorite prospects in this draft. His first TC didn't provide much improvement, but he looks like he could be a very good starter one day in this league. Play has been in desperate need of a young wing for quite some time and Hardaway definitely fills that need.
Grade: A
9. San Antonio - Ryan Jackson SG 6'9'' 210 21 C+ C+ C+ A+ C+ B
Ryan Jackson SG 21 6'9'' 210 C+ C+ B- A+ C+ B
A+ defense is unheard of for a rookie, but this pick was definitely a reach. Jackson wasn't likely to have a lot of potential or that great of a game. If he doesn't improve much he will be a backup on an elite team. A backup is not worth a top 10 pick in this draft.
Grade: C
10. Toronto - Jack Russell SG 6'2'' 215 20 B+ C+ D B- C- A
Jack Russell SG 20 6'2'' 215 A- B- D+ B+ C- A
Possibly the steal of the draft, Russell had the best TC out of anyone. He looked to be in the mold of Austin Brock before this TC. He could easily end up the better player of the two now. This was the usual DJ high risk, high reward pick. He finally lucked out on one.
Grade: A
11. Memphis - Reggie Yates PF 6'10'' 250 22 B B- B- B B C
Reggie Yates PF 22 6'10'' 250 B- B B- A- B- B
If you ask skillz he has once again selected the next superstar in bbs. In 3 days after 2 bad sims he could easily be on his way out. I see Yates as a guy Skillz keeps for awhile since he provides immediate production. B scouted potential makes you think he has a shot at getting a lot better but he won't. Taking Yates at this pick 11 was a great pick for the Grizz in a lot of ways.
Grade: A
12. LA Clippers - Stephon McXavier SF 6'8'' 220 21 B+ C C B C+ B
Stephon McXavier SF 21 6'8'' 220 B+ C C B C+ B
McXavier was definitely one of the most bbs ready prospects in this draft. If he can develop at all he will be a great role player or fifth starter. He isn't going to help Galo much right now though which defeated the purpose of taking him IMO.
Grade: B
13. Washington - Kenny Irish SF 6'6'' 245 23 C+ C B- C+ C+ A
Kenny Irish SF 23 6'6'' 245 C+ C+ B- B- B- A
Irish had such bad ratings it was going to be hard to take him much higher than his pick. Notes describing him as the next Karron Johnson made him worth a lotto selection. He was awful in preseason, but does have a bright future ahead of him.
Grade: B
