1) DeAndre Chamberlain C 6'10'' 240 20 C D+ C A- B+ A
Chamberlain is rumored to be a descendant of Wilt Chamberlain and their similar body types could hint at that, however, his lack of offense makes the comparisons stop there.
However, his defensive prowess is exceptional, he's very efficient with the ball and has good speed.
Chamberlain will be one of the best defensive big men in the league with a great combination of post defense and shot blocking.
His other huge asset is how aggressive he is on the boards. I expect that he will average 12 per season over his career.
His lack of offense could prevent him from going top-5.
2) Robert Band SF 6'7'' 224 22 B B B- C+ D A
Exceptional offensive player who is insanely versatile and can do a little bit of everything... except rebound! His lack of rebounding will prevent him from being an all-star and should ultimately see him become a shooting guard. If he starts, he will be the worst rebounder at his position in the league.
Band is an idea point forward, great floor vision, very fast and a true leader.
Expect him to be a lottery pick, but it's doubtful he'll be an all-star.
3) Aaron Charles PF 6'11'' 303 22 B C C C+ C+ B
Charles is an absolute handful. He was an offensive lineman in his freshman year before miraculously sprouting five inches and rather than becoming too tall for his position, he picked up basketball, which he had previously played in high school.
Charles is one of the strongest players in the draft, but he needs to learn how to properly throw his weight around. He is a solid scorer in the post and a great post defender, but he could stand to improve his rebounding.
One of his favorite things is firing a nice outlet pass and he actually racks up assists quite well. He is also a gifted shooter from 18 to 20 feet and is solid from the stripe for a man his size.
His upside is questionable, but he should be a serviceable player at the least.
4) Stephen Ellison SF 6'7'' 213 22 B- B+ C C+ C- B
Ellison is a very gifted scorer who can do a little bit of everything. Most expect him to become an incredible sixth man who provides an offensive spark off the bench.
He was a great player in college and is a natural leader who shines as one of the good guys in the locker room.
Ellison will not let down whoever drafts him, but it's doubtful that he gets too much better than he is now.
5) Ed Smith SF 6'10'' 222 19 C+ C C C+ C+ A
100% pure upside.
Smith is as raw as they come, but many say that he has a chance of becoming the next Kevin Garnett. Others say he's the next Ndudi Ebi. Which former Timberwolves player will he resemble more? Time will tell.
It's expected that he either has 95 to 100 potential or something like 30 to 40 potential. How enticing will he be to teams picking in the lottery? Again, time will tell.
