#2 Memphis Grizzlies #6 Miami Heat
Key Match-up : Devereux St. Cloud vs Ricky Rubio
Injuries : None
Season Series : Tied 1-1 GRIZZLIES 135, Heat 132 HEAT 103, Grizzlies 99
Outlook : The Heat have made an improbable run to the finals after the sanctions that were placed on their team earlier this year. They come into this series as a big underdog. That should come as no real surprise though as they have been the underdog in each of their previous series. The Grizzlies on the other hand were probably given a 50-50 shot to make it this far. They won their showdown with the Lakers and now are a step away from their second title. The back-court battle in this series is huge. St. Cloud is the floor general for the Grizzlies. They rely on his offensive production. Rubio on the other hand prides himself on getting his teammates involved and being a pest on the defensive side. If he can slow down Cloud and get him to make some mistakes things will be looking good for Miami. Down-low the roles might be a little reversed. Daniel Orton may be called upon to slowdown Greg Oden. This is not an easy task though. Over a 7 game series I think the Heat have ever so slight of an advantage. If the Heat do win the title don't be surprised if BBS commissioner Spencer Martin if forever known as "Martin the Merciful" for what many consider a very lenient ruling toward the Heat violating league salary rules.
Prediction : Heat in 6
