Good evening everyone, tonight we are in Portland, Oregon where we are investigating one of the biggest collapses in BBS history. The Portland Trail Blazers once regarded as one of the best franchises in the league with a top 3 overall winning percentage, multiple rings and all the swag in the world has found itself in a state of turmoil the past few seasons. It all started in 2015 when GM Dan Basone found himself bored and tired of winning, so he sought a new challenge. He decided he wanted to rebuild and then came one of the biggest down falls in recent history. The Trail Blazers sucked for three straight seasons, acquiring high lotto picks and some “great” talent. Looking back on the 2015 draft there were huge stars trickled all over, the Blazers had the second pick in the draft and selected a high price foreigner named Duck-Young Bak. It was not long before Portland shipped Bak to the formally named Hawks at the time to get Devereux St. Cloud. At the time it seemed like a smart move instead Bak turned into one of the top scoring forwards in the league, while St. Cloud is no slouch himself, he did not come into his own till about five seasons being in the league, well after his days in Portland.
We tried to get an interview with GM Dan Basone but he was not found. This photo was taken two weeks ago, the whereabouts of his location is unknown at the time.

Portland would have to turn things around in 2018 entering their contract year if they wanted to say in the league. That season they won 45 games and made it to the conference finals on the back of Dwight Howard. The Blazers lost in seven games to the formally Hawks now Grizzlies franchise. In 2020 the Blazers were back in the playoffs but this time lost in the first round. The next season the Blazers were plagued by injuries and were left 1 game outside of the playoffs. It has been 7 seasons since their last 50 win season, a long time for these fans that were accustomed to a lot of success over the years. Nothing seems to be going right anymore for GM Basone; all the Blazers are doing now is losing. Bad trades have set this franchise back. Lately it seems every young big man they go after turns into a huge bust. Hurt by hard cap troubles they find themselves in a corner. The next time they have their own first is the year 2025, which is in three seasons. Lately you can hear Basone cursing up a storm in the Rose Garden trying to burn the place down to get some insurance money.
The Blazers are going to have to battle for their lives in order to save this franchise. At least there is one bright spot on this team, and that is Abdul Denton.
Abdul Denton is the reigning rookie of the year who put up some impressive numbers for a rookie. Coming into his second year he had a very good training camp and is looking to put this team on his back. He will have to put up some impressive numbers and lower his turnovers for the Blazers to see any success. Though there are a few guys who can still play surrounding him, the Blazers do not have the swag they once had. Gm Basone needs to start all over again; he needs to rebuild this whole franchise from the ground up. He has done it before, why can’t he do it again? The summer is upon us and it is a perfect time to get things back in order for this team. Will Basone be the next to be hit with the contract year rule or will he rise to the top once again? I am Erin Andrews at the Rose Garden, Good Night.
