Hakin Alexander
5'8"
PG
150 lbs
20
Providence
Potential BBS Ratings-
C B B+ C+ F A
Strengths:
Like Allen Iverson, Alexander is a player who thrives on sheer will power and will not allow his lack of size to be confused with his breadth of ability.
Alexander is out to prove that even with his short stature, he can become one of the league's dominant point guards and takes shots at his size very personally.
He is an absolutely incredible ball handler and is the model of efficiency. He is an above average distributor, but don't expect double-digit assists early in his career or possibly ever. He will thrive in a triangle offense.
Obviously for someone of his stature to survive, he has to be lightning quick and he has waterbug speed.
Alexander is also an incredible mid-range shooter and can also hit from outside every now and then.
At the next level, he may not be a big-time scorer, but he will definitely give teams great leadership ability and efficiency.
His defensive abilities are improving and he will get more than one steal per game.
Weaknesses
It is impossible to project how someone of his size will perform on the next level. Will he be another Earl Boykins or Tajuan Porter or can he be a shorter Chris Paul?
The only rebounds that he gets are ones that land in his hands and he shies away from contact inside. He's not absolutely inept at getting to the basket and makes the occasional flashy layup.
He also needs to be a bit more unselfish, sometimes he tries too hard to create his own shot when better options are available.
Outlook
It may be a risk for him to be a top-5 or even top-10 pick, but he should be selected in the lottery
