Moon is one of the most intriguing players ever to come out of Korea. During the first game between North and South Korea Moon made noise due to a fist fight with Duck Young Bak after a hard foul on Moon. Bak broke his jaw in that scuffle and Moon was suspended from FIBA basketball for 2 years. However with the two years up he is looking to make some noise in the most premier league in the world BBS.
The Korean Shaq as many in his home country call him is a huge force in the paint. His amazing physique, and ox-esque strength make him a menace for the opposition. A rebounding monster, Moon purely overpowers players down-low and is considered "grimey" as one BBS superstar puts it. Due to his size he has problems with speed. His defense is considered mediocre and his restrictions in his vertical ability disallow him from being considered a scary shot blocker. As one BBS Scout puts it "He has a pretty big wingspan so his shot blocking is not terrible, but people aren't going to be scared that he will swat them out of the gym.
Baek's hand-eye cordination is nothing to brag about. He lacks adequate handles and his offensive game is very limited outside of the paint. One scout compared Moon to a "much bigger Carlos Boozer with less handles and mid range." Moon also seems to get very frustrated at times when he loses the ball. Jeff Zimmerman, Director of Scouting for the Los Angeles Lakers told BBS insiders that "One or two turnovers and he turns into a head case." Most scouts are optimistic though that in time this won't be an issue.
Scouts are very optimistic as well that he still has room into the tank to grow. Almost every scout that was talked to believes in time he will be a 20-10 player. "He has the tools in the tank to succeed, however his value might drop on teams draft boards as he will never be anything more then a mediocre defender."
