This class of FBB prospects is very solid from top-to-bottom and should compliment an already stacked class
1) Donovon Lon SF 6'8'' 224 20 C+ C+ C+ C+ C A
Raw, raw, raw! Lon is a player who just seeps upside.
Teams come out in droves to get a glimpse of Lon's potential. He had a rough freshman season as the nation's top-recruited small forward, but now as a sophomore, he has shown flashes of brilliance.
Lon's biggest hurdle is severe inconsistency. He'll drop 38 one night and 3 the next.
He is good at everything that he does, but far from great. He will need a few years to cook in the oven before he shows what he can really do.
2) Derrick Thompson SG 6'6'' 217 23 B B C- C C A
Thompson is already a player who will log 20 minutes due to his scoring prowess alone. Thompson originally signed on to play baseball, but sprouted three inches and was a walk-on in his freshman year at Southwest Tennessee Community College and ended up transferring to a D-I program.
Thompson is only playing his fifth season of organized basketball and is averaging 24.3 ppg on the college ranks.
He has an NBA-body and NBA-ready game, which will likely make him a lotto selection.
3) Terrence Melling SG 6'3'' 172 21 B C+ C B D+ A
Melling is an undersized combo guard who scores at will and loves to take it to the rim. He has crazy leaping ability and scouts believe that he has remarkable upside.
Melling's biggest knock is his size and inability to play point guard with proficiency. He will likely be a lifetime shooting guard, which will either make him another Juan Dixon or another Dwyane Wade. His athleticism leans towards the latter, but is his heart in it?
Melling is a natural athlete and a true competitor, but at times gets pushed around by larger opposing players. This may be a detriment to his professional status when he is drafted. But if he can continue to prove his guts on defense, which he has thus far, he should have a long career ahead of him as a two-way player.
4) Devon Wedge SF 6'6'' 223 22 B- C+ C+ C+ B B
Wedge is a player who can do a little bit of everything. He is already a sixth-man caliber player and whether or not his potential is tapped out at age 22 will settle the question of whether or not he can be a starter.
Wedge is the consummate team player and professional. He is a solid passer and takes care of the ball. He's also a very good scorer and an incredible rebounder for someone his size. He really knows how to throw his weight around and player bigger than his size.
Wedge reminds many of Paul Pierce or Paul Harris - someone who may drop in the draft and make opposing teams regret it.
5) Evan Hagan PG 5'10'' 178 22 C+ B+ C+ B+ D- B
Evan Hagan is an absolute phenom defensively. He may not be a starter right away, but with a little work, he could have a similar game to Rodrique Beabois and will his way to becoming a starter with his hard work.
Hagan lays it all out on the basketball court against opposing players on both ends of the floor.
Hagan is an incredible three point shooter as well, he has shot at over 40% in his last two seasons. He is also not afraid to drive to the basket when necessary.
He often played at the two spot in college, but should have no problem adapting to the pro game at the point. He needs to start passing the ball a little bit more and not get careless.
