Smith is 17/10 as a non option... with A defense at sf, A- at pf/c... he's easily a better overall player than Issel, even at 35 years old. DJ, please don't try to justify this trade. I wonder how quickly he rushed to post this. |

he does win the trade, Issel is younger and the pick right now is awesome.
But Issel has declined to the point where all he is good for is about 18-20 ppg with horrible defense, and I dont see how there is anyway this pick doesnt rise at least 4-5 spots from where it is now

I dont think Issel is special at all, but Smith is old and this pick is very valuable. He shouldve tried to upgrade one of his crappy players with the pick, not one of his better players. I agree 100%. I'm just saying. Issel sucks ass. |

Ive allowed worse trades to go through, but this needs to stop tonight. APN is a nice guy and a decent GM but he wasnt given much to work with to start and he dragged his feet in trading to get better. The MEM/ATL franchise is probably the 2nd worst franchise in the league and I need to stop the bleeding right now.

Ouch.
The problem with the Hawks started in the off season IMO. He has no salary to move right now. He should've tried to sign guys to big 1 year contracts instead of just one guy. That way, he could've had a bunch of options. APN did ok when his back was to the wall though. Hopefully he sticks around as an assitant.
