I was briefly reviewing the FA class when I realized how shitty it was. A further investigation into this conundrum will help reveal to the league how shitty the FA class indeed is. The FA list isn't completely updated so don't grill me if I make a mistake.
Best Players by position:
Center:
Max Catalano- Solid big man off the bench, but nothing more. Decent %'s from the field, but is atrocious from the line. Shotblocking is by far his best attribute
Ivan Cann- Wanted a shitload of money. Cann is still young and has some nice looking ratings, but doesn't really sim up to them. Could be worth a moderate risk if someone thinks he has some potential left. He kinda sucks
Power Forward-
Ty Walker- great shot blocker and defender. Wanted a little bit too much of a hefty contract for his skill set though. Can rebound well, but has never been a prolific scorer.
Tony Woods- Really? Yeah.
Small Forward-
Sven Andersson- Probably spelled his name wrong. He is kind of a bum. Plays great "positional defense" aka no one gives a shit. He can shoot a little bit from the outside too. He'll find a spot on a roster, but he is not impressive for a former top 5 pick.
Cameron Carter- Nice young player who looks like he has a lot of room for improvement. If Pig loses him, he might be SOL. Who knows though.
Shooting Guard-
Corey Fisher- Had a few great seasons on the Sonics, but has really fallen off. Extremely inconsistent player, but can still score in bunches, albeit randomly.
Willie Warren- Classic tweener. He's okay.
Point Guards
Austin Rivers- The proverbial "diamond in the rough." Amazing player. Easily the best player in this class.
Kemba Walker- A definite starting PG, but not in the top 10. Kinda never lived up to his ratings.
So there you have it! Only one real stud in this years draft class. Last year featured the likes of Gress, bigelow, and Whitehorse. Usually you'd expect to see about 3 of 4 studs on the Free Agent market, but not this year.
Moral of the story is that you should not waste your cap space on any of these guys and instead take on Jack Creamer and a first in return for you giving me your cap space.
Thank You and goodnight.
