yeah i forgot this was rock when I said that about Bob Marley... he shouldn't be on here for most people then Beach Boys should be on there for sure though then the Beastie Boys shouldn't be on here... because they are definitely not rock. They have a drummer, a bassist and a guitar player. How are they not rock?

Bob Dylan's there though. Elvis Costello and the Attractions need to be there. David Bowie is atrocious? You've got to admit that's personal preference though and that he should be on the list.

I would agree, if The Beastie Boys are on the list for the aforementioned reasons, then The Roots need to be there. That's a fact Jack!

If you like The Talking Heads (they're on the list), download the album "Low" by David Bowie. Maybe it'll change your mind on him... at least a bit.

The Beastie Boys started out as a punk rock band and fused hip hop into it. Call it what you want. Aesop Rock makes no top 128 list. People make the case that the Beastie Boys are like a Rapcore type band. They have a more rockish type sound then the Roots. Thats why they are there and not the Roots.

Or Aesop Rock? aesop rock may use different beats and more instruments than other rappers but his music isn't remotely anything but hip hop

Suffragette City is one of the best rock songs of all time.
