Gasol will only move if I'm offered a young superstar under 25. Someone like Brand, Kobe, T-Mac, etc.

And for all the smart-asses out there, I'd be packaging Gasol with a lot of other pieces for one of the aforementioned studs

It depends on who's being offered. For example my offer for T-Mac was something like Gasol, Terry, 10th overall pick and more.

I have no idea what some of you are doing in this league...

It depends on who's being offered. For example my offer for T-Mac was something like Gasol, Terry, 10th overall pick and more. That's a really bad offer. Pau has value, but he isn't even remotely close to T-Mac, and those secondary pieces aren't enticing.

OK, you got me. T-Mac is an A-/A- scorer who just averaged 29 a game and is 24 years old. But my bad, I didn't realize Diaw was so mediocre.

Man, I really don't understand how people value certain players in this league.
That's a really solid offer for TMac. And dude, if you don't like that offer, then why do you prefer J-Rich alone to DMase, Collins and two picks (in the Big Ben trade thread)? Make up your mind, are you going to overvalue youth or overvalue established talent?

You're equating an offer Big Ben with one for T-Mac.

Wow, just looking it over, T-Mac's gotta be the best player in the league right now, next to Shaq. He's sick.

"Man, I really don't understand how people value certain players in this league."
You and aar overvalue your players, and undervalue what it takes to get the elite superstars that don't actually get traded, apparently. He offered Diaw, Pau, and Terry (I assume, since that is what he sent to me five minutes after I got Kobe) for Kobe, and then said it is "much better" (or something along those lines) than my offer of Manu/Toine/POR 2006. His offer doesn't even approach what I gave, and I think 95% of the league would agree with that. I wouldn't have done his offer for Manu had he offered, because Manu got the +10 potential upgrade and just averaged 26 points per game on a team that won 49 games. His Pau offer, to me, is more suitable for a tier 2 or 3 player, not the elite superstars.
"That's a really solid offer for TMac."
It doesn't come close to T-Mac.
"And dude, if you don't like that offer, then why do you prefer J-Rich alone to DMase, Collins and two picks (in the Big Ben trade thread)? Make up your mind, are you going to overvalue youth or overvalue established talent?"
I don't have a set mold I look at, I look at the players. No one likes Desmond Mason as much as you do, so I'd be shocked if he is traded in the near future. To me, Mason is the kind of guy who isn't going to get much better, and eventually will be only above average once the ratings inevitably rise. Guys like Collins aren't dealbreakers, and if I remember right, those picks were fairly valueless (although I could be wrong, since I honestly don't remember what two picks you were offering). JRich was just the second overall pick, Spence didn't rip the selection, he was a complete and utter superstar last league, and he's still got (I assume) two or three more TCs where he can develop into a superstar caliber player. I don't view Mason as that. If you do, that is fine, you can make the argument. But for me, I'd rather have JRich than Mason, and mediocre secondary pieces don't make up the difference. I'm basing that on JRich's potential, and Mason being a fairly polished product.
I don't see how it relates that much to the T-Mac offer either. T-Mac is a top-5 player in the league, only a year older than Pau, and still has tons of potential. That's not Ben, and valuing T-Mac over Pau/Terry/Diaw is not overvaluing established talent, it's being logical. Would you deal T-Mac for that package? You would? Really?
