1. What are your feelings on the events that have taken place today. With Haberman? Dave? Martinez? Any others you feel you need to talk about who have been crucial in todays events. Is someone more at blame then others?
- I think the Haberman/Dave incident was just a little ridiculous all-around. Dave needs to stop provoking him just for the hell of it. Aaron needs to chill on the sensitivity, although I understand his point of view. In the end, just ignore Dave and he will go away (except in the case of Marty, who cannot and will not ever go away). I hope both stay. I think the league is better with both of them in it but some sort of restraining order should definitely be put in place between the two. As far as Marty, I hope he takes his seat in hell next to Hitler, Tom Brady, and Hugh Jackman. I feel like he’s a little piece of shit that has overplayed his hand. He should not be allowed back into the league ever again. Ever. He’s a bad GM, a bad person, and definitely has some sort of mental disorder. Good riddance to him and everything he has ever stood for. Basically, Marty, FUCK YOU.
2. Critique Spence's handling of the events that have happened today and yesterday. Do you agree with what he has done? If not, what would you have done differently?
- Spence is so much friendlier than I am, but he’s doing a good job. It’s not an easy situation to handle. I think the league would ultimately like to see Aaron/Dave coexist and I think he’s trying to make that happen. So yeah, I think he has done a solid job on that front. However, I would, of course, strongly disagree with him letting Marty back into the league. He should be gone forever. Why? Well, I think we’ve already established that. Marty, FUCK YOU.
3. Who has done a good job recently of acquiring talent and making themselves a solid team? Who has done a very bad job. Who has struggled the last couple of season and who has been strong.
- Well, this is easy. The first part would pretty clearly me referring to me. I’ve done a fantastic job. I gave up some solid picks, but Azuolas, Highlander, and Hahn have been sick. Team is playing really well. Plus, my core is very young. Salvatore, Azuolas, Brody, and Highlander are all quite young. Plus, I have my replacement for Hahn waiting in the wings (Kenny ‘Penny and Timmy’ Hardaway). Basically, team is sick and I did a fantastic job of piecing them together. We have a player that does just about everything right. Kudos to myself. As for the second part, Dan has done an AWFUL JOB. Terrible. His team has no future and no real talent. The ‘swag’ is officially 100% gone. Forever. It’ll never come back.
4. You have to fire one person right now on the spot. Who is it and why? (Martinez quit he can't count)
- Derwin. Why? I don’t really like him.
5. Pick 2 GM's. Discuss there strategies in trying to create a winning team. Then discuss the positives and negatives of that certain style of GMing.
- First, let us examine Skillz. He’s a psychopath. He trades in an insane amount of circles, but it always seems to work. It’s hard to even hate on Skillz anymore because his insane methods of trading work. Even right now, I like a lot of his players. I’m pretty sure Skillz has no strategy when building a winning team which makes it even more interesting. He just finds players that pique his interest and manages to get a hold of them quite often. I almost envy Skillz methods of building a team simply because I hate trading so incredibly much. He loves it. Quite a contrast! The biggest negative to his method of trading is that he sometimes blows up really sick teams. Second, let us investigate Outlawz. He mastered the method of building a team that many have tried to emulate: acquire a shitload a future picks, be they good at the time or not, and use that to your advantage in the future. It seems simple in concept, sure, but he has done a great job with it time and again. He’s a bitch to deal with, but most good GM’s are. I guess the only real negative to this style of GM’ing would be if your youth/picks don’t pan out as planned. However, when you own half the damn league’s picks then it’ll turn out well.
6. Who do you think the next GM to get hit by the contract year will be?
- I think Dan is in the most trouble. He doesn’t have his pick for a few years, his team is old and mediocre, and I think he might be losing some interest. I don’t really see what direction he could go to save his franchise. He’d need to do a shitload of wheeling and dealing, but time is running out on that franchise. I’ll go with Dan, final answer.
7. Describe your tenure in BBS so far. Your strengths and weaknesses. What you enjoy about the league and what you dislike and where you like the league to go in the future
- I’ve really come to enjoy BBS. I had a few shaky points from time to time, but I always end up coming back quite quickly. It’s a hobby and keeps me quite busy when I have nothing else to do. Great league. I can comfortably put it on the same level as NBN and definitely think they are pretty much equals. BBS is the most active league I’ve ever seen and I’m not sure if that will ever be matched. As far as myself, I think I’ve become a MUCH better GM than when I started. I’ve always been a gun-shy GM, but I’ve grown out of that a little bit. I used to sit on players and teams for long periods of time. I think my biggest strength as a GM would probably be rebuilding a team. I’ve gotten pretty good at the one-year rebuild and successfully pulled it off again this past offseason. My biggest weakness is building teams that succeed in the damn playoffs. I’ve had a ton of success throughout the years in this league but I just can’t win the big one recently. Not sure why, but that’s obviously something I have to work on. Plus, I still am not a big fan of trading. As far as the league, I love the activity. I think I only do well in leagues that keep my interest and this one certainly does. I obviously love Spence. He’s great and does an amazing job. I love my team right now. Basically, the league has a wholeeee bunch of strengths. The only thing I dislike about the league right now is the impending doom of the retro conversion in 2025. I hate retro and I don’t want to see it happen to BBS. It’ll be sad for me. I would like the league to avoid retro at all costs, but Spence is set on it.
