Mickey O'Mahoney
22
Notre Dame
6'5
SG
210 LB's
Potential BBS Ratings: B- B C+ A- C B
The NCAA player of the year Mickey O'Mahoney had 4 stellar years at Notre Dame bringing them to the NCAA Championship two years in a row. Known as one of the scrappiest players in the NCAA, O' Mahoney carried his team with a career PPG of 23.5 at ND breaking the schools scoring records in the process. O'Mahoney has decided that it is time to test the waters of BBS and further pursue his dream of being the greatest.
Strengths: Work Ethic. Kid is a gym rat. What he lacks in athleticism is made up with hard work. Joe Alexander type where he was not regarded highly by big time colleges out of high school. Kid has worked for everything he has gotten on the basketball court. Very solid mid range game. 3 pt is streaky, he can go 0-8 or 8-8 on any given night. Good slasher and ball handler. Wicked combination of speed and handles. If molded properly could be a nice PG. Defensively he is a hawk. Incredible lateral footwork makes him a very good defensive presence. Plays passing lanes very well and should be a perennial top 10 guy in steals. Good strength and fitness. Doesn't get intimidated and plays inside his game. Coaches dream.
Weaknesses.
Most scouts think that due to his lack of athleticism O'Mahoney has hit his peak as far as potential is concerned. However a lot of GM's have them rising up their draft board as he is the most BBS ready player out there. As one scout said "We don't see him getting much better and he won't be a star, but we will be getting one of the best complimentary players to come out in years for the next 10 years." O'Mahoney will probably never be a star in this league but with RC help he could be a 20 PPG guy who is up for DPOY honors.
