1- Cleveland Cavaliers - Dave Bing PG 6'3'' 180 22 C+ B- B- B C A
Bing seems to be the prize of this draft by far. He has all the qualities of a starting point guard in BBS with room to grow. Should be groomed to be the premier guard in whichever backcourt he ends up in.
2- Miami Heat - Clyde Lee C 6'10'' 210 22 C+ D+ D+ B A- B
Lee reminds some of DeAndre Chamberlain, now with the Pacers, when he came into BBS. Already an accomplished rebounder, Lee is a pretty good defender but is still raw offensively. He will need some work but should turn out to be a top 25 center in this league when his time is done.
3- Golden State Warriors - Dick Snyder SF 6'5'' 207 22 B+ C B C+ C A
Snyder has a great inside game already with above average ball handling skills for a small foward of his stature. Is it too early to compare him to a possible Duk Young Bak? Possibly, but he'll need to work on his outside stroke first.
4- Utah Jazz - Freddie Lewis PG 6'0'' 175 23 B- B- C+ B- C A
Lewis has a pretty balanced outside game and a strong defender to start out. His handles don't seem to indicate much play making abilities but he should be able to get by with his speed and quickness.
5- Los Angeles Lakers - John Beasley C 6'9'' 225 22 B- C D+ C+ B- A
Beasley doesn't posses the ideal height or body to play the center spot but should make a seamless transition to power forward. Right now he doesn't possses a great quality but the tools are certainly there to be a premium big man in this league.
6- New Jersey Nets - Walt Wesley C 6'11'' 220 21 B- D+ D+ B+ C+ B
The Nets hold potentially two lottery picks in this draft and could spend its first on a big like Wesley. Unlike Beasley, Wesley is taller and a better defender down low. He could be one of the best shotblockers in this class when all is said and done.
7- Atlanta Hawks - Cazzie Russell SF 6'5'' 220 22 B B- C C+ C A
Russell has a nice inside-outside game right now and should only get better with time and proper reward camp usage. His game should easily translate to any rebuilding team that is hoping to add some scoring to their roster.
8- Washington Wizards - Jim Barnett SG 6'4'' 175 22 C+ B C B- C A
Barnett is the creme of the crop in a otherwise weak shooting guard class. He has good form from the perimeter and should be able to start on defense but his handles leave something to be desired. His potential alone though should keep him in the top 10.
9- Dallas Mavericks - Tab Jackson SG 6'2'' 206 22 C+ B C- C+ C A
Jackson seems like one of those high risk, big reward type picks here. Right now, he doesn't have pretty ratings but his potential seems to pretty high and could be one of the rare steals among the shooting guard crop.
10- New Jersey Nets (From Houston) - Donnie Freeman SG 6'3'' 185 22 B B C C+ C B
Probably one of the most complete scorers in this draft, Freeman should be taken here in order to salvage his value. His defense is average as well and his B potential indicates he still has room to grow some more.
11- Houston Rockets (From Portland) - Joe Ellis SF 6'6'' 178 22 C+ C+ C- B- B+ A
Ellis is sort of an enigma here because he looks completely undersized to play the three but may be destined for a career at SF with C- handles. However, his game is intriguing and at worst could be a sixth-man type.
12- Detroit Pistons - Howard Bayne PF 6'6'' 235 24 C+ D+ D+ B- B+ B
Bayne is another undersized forward that would probably be better suited at another position but has good potential to succeed at power forward. He will need to improve his game inside to be starter in this league though.
13- Toronto Raptors - Jeff Mullins SG 6'4'' 190 24 B- B C C+ C B
Mullins rounds off the lottery here as another pick that could reap rewards although he is already 24 years old. His scoring which ranges from jumpers to penetrating runners should keep him in the lottery mix.
