Didn't see this coming with the addition of Bass. Too bad Mavs.

Orlando got worse this offseason IMO. Hedo> VC. Lost Courtney Lee who I like alot. Ryan Anderson is solid, but I doubt he plays much with Bass and Lewis at F.

VC is less versatile. They are both pretty poor defenders. VC is a better scorer, but I think Hedo is a better play maker. Plus VC is someone that just turns it off some nights. Ive seen VC just give up in the middle of games. Hes flashy so people think hes better.

VC is a better defender, playmaker, and scorer. There is nothing Hedo can do that VC can't do better. And VC is about a million times more athletic.

Ive seen VC just give up in the middle of games. Hes flashy so people think hes better. People are critical of Hedo too. Say that he needs to be in important games or he doesn't show up. VC is also a better playmaker. So unselfish, so underrated as a passer. Hedo is a very versatile/good player, but VC's the better scorer (not close) and to me the better play maker for sure. Total generalization on VC just giving up in the middle of games and based entirely on his Toronto days. No one ever had a bad thing to say about Vince in New Jersey throughout the whole time he was on the team. Just such a great player and definitely superior to Hedo right now.

VC just gives up in games though. maybe playing for a better team will make him more interested. This is so overblown. He plays hard. How many Nets games were actually televised on national TV? Couldn't have asked for more out of him. All of those generalizations stem from Toronto (5 years ago), not New JErsey (the player he is now). It's also the same knock people have on Hedo. Vince is far better. Huge upgrade. The Magic had great chemistry obviously so how they play remains to be seen, but Hedo vs. VC = VC. Vince also shouldn't mess up any chemistry at all. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for being an unselfish player/great passer. He was the best passer on the team last year no doubt.

Small sample size but I wasnt impressed.

VC is much, much better than Turkolug. I watch both of them a lot as a Knicks fan.
Turk is extremely streaky. VC scares me whenever he touches the ball.

I think the Magic are now the clear cut favorites in the East, Vince Carter is still top 5 at his position in the League, hands down. He's a much smarter basketball player than people give him credit for, which is what a young, talented Orlando team needs. I see VC being the Leader of that Locker Room by seasons' end.
As far as Gortat and Bass, major major upgrade for Orlando. Bass is a beast, super underrated, and gortat proved himself last year he can hang with the best in the bizz. They have all the pieces in place to win a championship, J.J. Reddick will fill in courtney lee's spot just fine.
If u ask me, trading for VC and signing Bass is much better than signing rasheed wallace or shaq.

What do you consider VC? A SG or SF? In either, he's not top 5 in the league anymore, and definitely not hands down.

no? i think he's a pure SG, but thats what great about him he can play either effectively. name me 5 guys you'd rather have?

Out of SGs, I'd take Kobe, Wade, Iguodala, Roy, Manu (healthy) and Joe Johnson ahead of VC. I'd definitely put Vince ahead of Redd, Martin, Allen, Rip, SJax and the second-tier SG crop as a whole. As far as hybrid perimeter types, though, Pierce, Butler, Melo, LBJ, and others are better than VC. I'm not really giving this much though, and I'm sure there are a bunch of guys I'm forgetting, though.
