illinois was the favorite in that game when wisconsin was top 5 and illinois was unranked I still disagree with that, even though they lost. Swan went down, otherwise I'm confident they'd have taken the game. I don't think the 5th team in the nation should ever be an underdog on the road to an unranked team, even though it turned out that Illinois was superior. Whatever. Very frustrating.

i thought illinois was a lot better team at the time and was ready to bet on them but them being favorites scared me

This is an incredible RB class. I'm a huge Stewart fan... he just needs to stay healthy.

Jonathan Stewart with a sick day for ducky. Mendenhall is a beast, I love the guy, he had a huge day too. Mendenhall is my favorite player in the draft. Yeah, he wasn't as fast as I hoped. I thought he would be close to 4.40, but 4.48 isn't too bad. But Stewart is a monster in the weight room. He had 28 reps, more than any other RB at the combine. And if I'm not mistaken, Stewart also had one of the best vertical jumps?

And against USC he was sick! 1-McFadden 2-Snoop 3-Mendenhall I honestly think all 3 guys will be pretty good NFL backs. Oh and a few side notes: Mike Hart ran a 4.67 McFadden has fumbled the ball 23 times in his career. Stewart didn't even fumble once his senior year (I think like 3 in his career).

We knew Hart wasn't going to "wow" at the combine. Still, 4.67 is tough. Oh well.
I agree on the three backs, they're all going to be really good. I just want to see where Mendenhall goes. I hope he gets a chance to play, because he was that Illinois team this past year. Juice might still be there, but they're taking a step back next season until they can figure out how to replace his production.

btw, I just watched the RBs run their 40... Stewart seemed really slow? He talks small strides, and it seems like he's working so hard (Probably because he weighs so much).
McFadden looked like he was flying.

Yeah but Hart's a warrior and one of the most competitive guys out there. His passion of football could really lead some teams to take a chance on him early.

I really don't see how Hart will ever be anything other than maybe a 3rd down back in the pros.
If Slaton gets drafted by a zone blocking scheme (what Denver is famous for and more teams are starting to use primarily) I think he can be a very productive pro back. I don't think he will be very successful in any other type of blocking though. I would think most pro teams view him the same and ZBS team will end up drafting him because he will be higher on their boards.
He could be a steal in the 3rd round but he could just as easily be worthless

By the way, I think it's hilarious that this started as a soccer thread, haha.
Good invasion guys.

I really don't think much of Slaton, but it could be a decent pick since they need a RB..

I would love to add Vilma in Jacksonville but we are STACKED at LB's.

pretty disappointed that the jets told vilma to look for a trade. I agree, but at least they won't let him join N.E.

I don't really buy into this type of thing at all. I'd rather have someone have a passion for football than not have a passion for football, but I wouldn't ignore someone's physical limitations and draft him early because he is a "warrior".

Hart's legit. Fuck speed. He's not gonna be able to carry the ball 300 times a season, but he's gonna be a good NFL RB.

Also, Vilma sucks. Most overrated linebacker in football, although he was good his rookie year. He can't blitz, just runs to stop plays pretty well and packs on tackles, which probably a hundred other guys could do. I don't want to see him go, but he's not a big deal.

Hart has weak size, speed, and a ridiculous amount of college carries. I don't see it.

The guy is machine in open space. He's a great tackler and good in coverage. The probably is in the 3-4 the Jets don't have big enough blockers up front (Dewayne is our NT... he sucks) to the let guy have room to make plays. He doesn't shed blocks well... Harris does and that's why he's so successful in the system. Put Vilma in a 4-3 defense and he's a pro-bowl type player, as he proved his first two years.

And to Hart, I love the guys passion but I could easily see him wear down early in his career. He should've done what Ray Rice did this year and leave before overworking him at the college level would become an issue.

I've heard brief rumors about that but I doubt it, even though he does have ties with Florida. We just traded for Troy Williamson from the Vikings for a 6th or 7th round pick. He's had a bad start but the #7 overall pick in the draft for a shit pick? Sure, why not. Maybe a change of scenary can help this 4.3 WR.

He's hasn't shown much but he could be a perfect compliment to those big physical Jag WR's.
