wtf??
I was watching Mort goes to Camp just last night and they interviewed Andy Reid and he said there was no chance they would sign Vick...

Only reason why I think it's weird is because I thought Vick would go somewhere where he could at least get some snaps. If ever there were a place where QB is a little bit protective of his job, it's in Philly. I know he was never coming back as a QB, but I thought he'd take direct snaps and spell the QB in certain spots. Never gonna happen in Philly. I was thinking Brad Smith of two seasons ago.
I guess he didn't have the options, and I'd guess a lot of that is because no team would give him a serious role in their offense when he'll miss 5 or 6 games.

that or maybe Reid did this out of Favor to Dungy. Vick was always a run first QB and who better to learn from than McNabb to be a better pocket passing QB? I think this is more to get Vick off his feet then actual long term.

They said he'll make around 1.6mill in his first year. That's decent. Happy he's back in the NFL.

that's "decent?"
That's more than the average person will make in a life time.

that's "decent?" That's more than the average person will make in a life time. That's decent for Michael Vick. I actually thought he might get less considering not many people wanted anything to do with him.

Awesome signing for the Eagles. McNabb, Jackson, Westbrook, Maclin, Vick. So much firepower. If used correctly, and with Reid I think he will use him perfectly, Vick can be a huge difference maker.

I like it. Worth the risk.

I think the most interesting part is that they have got to be planning to get him a really decent amount of snaps (assuming he looks good). No way they would throw that money around if they didn't have some pretty significant plans for him.

what money did they throw around? None of it is guaranteed this is zero-risk signing., They don't take any significant salary cap hit and Vick has played in this offensive system before. I forget who's on Philly now that was OC at Atlanta maybe Mornhiweg? but yeah Vick knows the offense.

I saw 1.6 this year, and 5.2 next year. Obviously some of it is incentive based, but they are not giving him that to get a play or two a game. Should be very interesting.

Actually I just checked, it's $1.6 this year, $5.2 next year, and up to $3 mil in additional incentives over the 2 years. That's big money for him

Yes not guaranteed you idiot meaning that if he's cut this year or next they owe him absolutely nothing and how was I wrong about the Holt contract? All I got wrong was the years and the incentives you idiot.
You know nothing about football so stick to what you do know, being an idiot.

All I got wrong was the years and the incentives you idiot. You know nothing about football so stick to what you do know, being an idiot. The only way they don't owe him anything is if he is cut before the regular season. Do you think that is going to happen? Way to be wrong....again And OBVIOUSLY the 2nd year is a team option. I didn't think I had to explain that. HAHAH. All you got wrong was the years and the incentives? Well you got 3 out of 3 wrong, cuz you weren't right about the guaranteed money either. So good job for just proving that it is you who knows nothing about the financial aspect of football. Hell, I should just say football in general. Stick with your Spain soccer or whatever the hell it is.

Actually probably a good situation for him. He has'nt played in a couple yrs and is rusty as hell probably. Also wont hurt him to watch McNabb awhile and learn that you dont take off running just because your first option is'nt open. GL to him, he did his time.

I don't see how that money is worth talking about for him at all. If he sucks, he's gone at the end of the year and they only paid 1.6 million. If he's good and hits his incentives... well I think that's what they want to happen. It's Michael Vick. If he didn't go to prison he'd still be one of the most impossible guys to game plan against in the NFL. It's low risk high reward for them.
