Walt Frazier
Mike Lewis
Get some really, really nice value out of this Utah 2030 1st. Now I can look to move Bing I guess for a big or something. Regardless, love what Walt brings to the table for me.

I confirm. God damn, I get murdered in this deal talent wise, but I hope people realize that I NEEDED my first this year. I wanted to make this my team and rebuild the way I wanted to, and my first is without a doubt going to be top 5, if not (hopefully) higher. If I get lucky in the lotto, I can end up with a kick-ass player. It's a long road to travel, but I have the cap and the picks now to do it.

What's the difference between having a lotto pick and having Clyde in the first place? You didn't need your pick anymore than you needed Clyde--just need a guy to build around. If you're gonna trade Clyde, you should get a lot more than your pick back.

I agree totally with Aaron here which is why I made the pick. That 1st probably won't be more than Frazier unless it ends up being 1 and possibly Pistol Pete is better. I didn't want to gamble that the pick would turn out 5th or 6th and I'd lose out on the value.

You traded a "kick ass player" for a chance to end up with a slightly worse "kick ass" player. Always a good move.
You could have just signed a bunch of vets and tried to be somewhat decent this year and tanked the year after.

Frazier was a top-5 pick who has already proven to not be a bust

Clyde also has 2 yrs left on his contract. I wouldn't want to risk having to resign Clyde after a ton of losing seasons. I think he should've gotten another 1st instead of an owed 1st but it really isn't as bad as people make it seem. It's just the cool thing to jump all over chipper now.
