OK, so I've been putting it off for a very long time but this weekend when I was playing basketball the front part of my right shoe ended up coming away from the sole... so I need a new pair.
My current pair are the Nike Shox VC 1, and they are very very old. I didn't play much ball between 2005-2008 and played heavily from 1998-2005 so at the time the VCs were my primary shoes and I had Nike Air Zoom Ultraflights as my backup pair which I also liked.
Problem is, I have quite flat feet and need to put an insole into every shoe that I wear, and it results in me needing a wider fit at the front of the shoe for it to be comfortable. My VCs were a little tight at the front but not so bad for me and they were comfortable everywhere else with great performance/grip/ankle support. My Ultraflights are great for about half an hour of play, but then after that I get pain in the sole of my feet from them - they're also quite uncomfortable up front.
So, with that in mind, does anyone have any suggestions for a new pair of shoes? As a rundown though I basically need a guard-friendly shoe (as I play PG/SG) with a wider fit at the front.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What the FUCK are they? They look like what I'd imagine you'd get if a gumball machine exploded in footlocker.

I pray you can get them in different colors. they look like something a mall clown would wear. If the big red shoes were out of stock of course.

I've never been comfortable in low tops... don't think I've ever played competitively in low tops though, always been higher ones for the ankle support. Are those two you suggest good for wider feet? Also how new are they? Unless I get them online I'd need to find them in a store in the UK and the only one that'd sell them is Niketown or Footlocker, and neither stock older shoes. In fact Footlocker don't really have a good selection of shoes over these days either.

Pros and cons of them? I'm out of the loop with ball shoes. Don't know much about ball shoes any more these days.

And when you say flexible is this going to be at the expense of ankle support.

i'm not really sure about how they'll fit you, best bet is to try on the pair. i'd imagine that you'd have no problems. ankle support is fine.
id check out niketown or a nike outlet or something... you probably wont find them in footlocker anymore, or if you do it'll only be big sizes
