You were, at one point, the dominant GM in BBS. What's happened to you? Are your recent struggles the product of a few bad moves? Have you lost your touch?
I think its a combination of stuff. Got really annoyed with how spence handled stuff (was on the brink of quitting), made bad moves, but what's held me back is not having my comp and having that hour or so to be able to look through stuff and find the kind of deals i like. I think to be a really good gm you need to be able set aside some time to find deals etc. With me not being in uoslr and nbn dead i should be able to have more time. Just need to get my shit fixed. I havent won anything in about 15 years and i'm still tied for most rings. Im sure im top 3 at least in total wins (regular season+playoffs). Which im still proud of but a lot of guys have gotten better also and while others have stepped it up i havent. This rebuild is important i gotta show i still have it.
Who's been your favorite Knick in this version of BBS?
Durant + Rose. I just loved having those guys in their prime. My biggest mistake was moving them. I should have kept them until they retired. After they left the franchise it wasnt a coincidence we've had a problem being back on top. Durant was just such an animal on offense. Rose just did it all. If i had to go to battle and pick 2 guys from the start of bbs to where im at now i would definitely go with those 2 guys.
How soon can we expect to see you back on top?
Hopefully after this rebuild. If i dont then guys have a right to talk crap say i lost it. I gotta show im still one of the best. Few guys have gone up the ladder while ive just been falling. Time to step it up. I will rebuild one more season and hopefully in 32 the rise to the top begins once again.
Rank the following GMs, and name one weakness for each of them.
JAH - Hes about top 8-13 About as solid a GM as there is out there. If you want consistency jah is your guy. I just dont think he has that champion quality. Yes, he has a ring but thats because he either drafted well or got lucky with a signing. To me you have to be able to have the balls to change the makeup of your team and GET that player via trade sometimes. Never seen jah do it and dont believe i ever will. In order for him to win a ring the stars have to be aligned. He'll always be in the playoffs and is a tough out but he can be a lot better.
Skillz - Top 5. He's the only gm that can just get any player he wants. I respect that. He can build a team up and down in 24 hrs and still be alright without having his picks for centuries. I think he stuck to actual direction instead of doing the merry go round with every player in the league he could possibly be the best gm in the league. I think he has that much potential. He just needs to harness his trade anxiety. Has to be some kind of disorder lol
Ashes - Top 15 - Hes finally made a good run and won a chip. Before that though i saw him as an aar type. Overvaluing players and then moving them at the wrong time. Just didnt make enough moves early on but with West on his team he seems to have found his balls by making the necessary moves needed to build a championship team.
Nanz - Top 3. I think nanz got fucked so many times by injuries that it hurt me. I think hes right behind me as far as finals appearances. Always makes the right move and knows who to go after. Once he has a winner you can expect his team to be great for a long time. I cant say he has a weakness because hes as good as it gets in bbs.
Dan - Top 15. I like dans style but there was a 10 season stretch that i dont know what the fuck he was doing. Hes the only back to back champion so i definitely respect that. He found his swag back and built a pretty good team considering the penalty he was dealt for simming ahead. I think he just needs to learn not to give up his picks from so far ahead. Everytime he rebuilds he wastes all his assets getting them back and doesnt end up with great value.
What young team right now has the best future in BBS?
I think the celtics has the best young core but i dont think the celtics have the right gm to harness that talent and take advantage. I just hate gms that play the game like a fucking girl. Im not going to give out tips because with that much talent you should know what to do.
Which GMs, if any, are better than you?
Im a competitive dude i never think anyone is better than me but i havent been great for a while. But guys that i think are great gms are nanz, skillz, aar (when he doesnt overvalue guys), mark, amd cj
Comment on some of the new hirings (Kobe, Tiger, Bryan, Pig, Andrew). Are they good additions? Anyone you didn't want to be in BBS?
I think tiger is great he brings every good quality you want in a gm.
The bryan dude seems like he knows the game and not a dumb ass. I think he'll be part of the good core of bbs.
kobe - who?
pig - hes always great in my book even if he does nothing
andrew - i think he sucks as a gm.. takes it as a joke.. good for activity though. Better than nothing i suppose.
Who's the one player you'd pick to build a winner around this year?
If i had to pick just one guy for this season it would be west.. Love his ratings and stats he can give
Call out one GM not named Skillz and explain why he bothers you, or why he's not a good GM.
CC as a person i think hes cool. Dont have a problem with him at all. His "Insert player" is out of the east comments i find comical. His team is stacked. That team can be so much better and with davidson gettin older by the day he should be more proactive to win now. Cant afford to wait on guys to get better. I dont even want to say what he should do because he plays the game like a fucking girl. Its a fuckin game play with some balls. Go after it. I dont ever see him winning a title with that team.
Also, i think so many guys have gotten championships out of luck. Blue winning 2 titles was a wtf moment for me. He has a st cloud but those teams to me were not championsip material. Martinez? cmon, cc? give me a fuckin break. I guess guys gotta win at some point once u been in the league for 30 yrs but shit.
