It doesn't take a genius to figure out that laptop batteries lose power very quickly. With a stated battery life of 11.5 hours, the loss is probably going to be pretty drastic. Just common sense.

Just common sense. 11.5 hours is obviously with the Graphix Boost option turned off so when I'm not watching HD streams or playing video games I can turn the NVidea graphics card off to save battery life. If you think I'm only going to get 3-4 hours like most "basic" laptops you're insane. Reviews and tests show battery life at 6-8 hours with Nvidia running and 11-12+ with the Graphix off. |

That is apparently the greatest laptop battery ever.
Maybe I should have gotten that instead of a Macbook, it obviously sounds MUCH better.

The point of that article was to show you that ghz doesn't matter anymore and core duo is one of the best processors. Second no I've checked all the bf deals and there will be nothing like this and if you know anything about the economy you'll know that stores inventory is down from last year so these deals will sell out quick but no for 700 there is no laptop that comes close to this Ghz does matter, the thing is so many things determine a faster compuer now. L2 Cache Size, RAM, Graphics Card, Clock Cycle (frequency), Operating system, Multi threaded CPUs (duo core, quad core, etc), even shit like your frontal bus speed matters. Usually larger cache + RAM are what make your computer run faster. Cache is the first thing your processor access to read and write. So if a process/app is in the cache, you'll access it at a much higher speed then if it was on RAM or disk.. (a 8 MB cache + 16 gig RAM would kick ass) But a 1.2 ghz freq is damn slow compared to all the other core 2 duo processors out there. But whatever, I doubt it makes THAT big of a difference. So while frequency doesn't matter as much as before we started threading processors, it still matters. |

700 is a good deal + Ur getting a monitor, ya?
I paid 650 for my Lappy, and it has similar specs to yours, cept mine runs at 2.2 GHz.

Processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. Overclocking is making it operate at a higher frequency, in this instance, 1.73 GHz. Normally, I'd never overclock a laptop, because it's done by unsupported means and could be dangerous, but in this case, the overclocking comes with the computer software and is supported by Asus, which is fucking awesome.
