Chris Bosh 6'11 210lbs Age:18 College:None(Highschool) Year: Senior Strengths: Rare type of big man that can beat you with inside moves and hit from the outside. Very fast for his height. Excellent shot blocker. Great hands for a big man, good passing skills. Weaknesses: Needs to put on more muscle. Stamina is a question. Ability to be a team leader also questionable. Notes: Will probably be the top big man to come out of the draft. Could be a sure-shot #1 pick in next year's draft if he decides to go to college. Potential Rookie Ratings: B- C C B- C+ A

He'd still be in HS in '02... it would be interesting to see him enter a year earlier than expected.

Just curious - if say I get pick #3, and there is a player that you are leaning to have go back to college, am I allowed to promise athatplayer that he won't fall beyond my pick, and therefore you have him declare this season?
Just checking.

Bosh isnt an excellent shot blocker... maybe above avg on a good day. Great at taking charges(quickness) and his outside shot is a big weapon... should probably be a C+ shooter(great midrange but not a 3pt shooter).

You actually want him to enter with a C+ outside? I think like an 82 mid range and 27 three is a C+, and I'd put him below both those numbers, and well below them as a rookie, at that.

B- C+ C C+ C+ A Bosh is an average defender at best, agreed. Though he has a knack of being a very good shot blocker off his man. As for making him a C+ outside? No way, Jooberman made it pretty clear way. I think giving him a C+ now, could potentially make him a B in the future, and that's not suitable. Keeping him a fairly high C, with the highest potential of acquiring is B-, suits him fair enough. People I don't make these ratings, Spencer does.

There's no way he should have a C+ outside rating. Btw if a player decides not to declare in one year is it likely that his ratings will change next year when he does declare?

Ive seen Bosh's entire career to date... avg shot blocker... including off the ball. He prefers to try to take charges. C's and Pf's with a C+ outside rating rarely improve to B or even B-. One of his main weapons is his mid range jumper... he should be better than the vast majority of bigs in that area.

He's a high C because I dont like the thought of him being a B or B+. Most Gms end up going big, so a player lik Bosh with B- C+ ratings would probably be at SF, and probably end up at B+ B or A- B. I dont think hes that good of a player. He should get to B+ C+ pretty easily, and I think that suits him.

C outside is fair if it's his 3-point rating that drags it down to that level

Making Bosh a scoring big would be interesting... with avg D and above avg rebounding. If he was C+ outside with high midrange and no 3pt range, i seriously doubt he'd come anywhere close to B outside... B- at most, but with no 3pt shot, a high C+ is probably where he would stay.

Just checking. I love this idea. I think that GM's should def. have a say as to weather or not a player comes out. Obviously, only the comments within reason should be taken into accout, but I think it would add another dimension to the draft....

Has this been done in another other league that anyones aware of? I'm curious because It would be nice to hear some pros/cons of this situation. It would appear to add some excitement to the draft for sure.

I tried it in UBL but it got out of hand. We havea different set of GM's here so it could very well work.

I like this idea, it would seem like a cool feature to have. Maybe if they declare a season before they really would, a drop in potential happens or maybe an increase but some other cats go down. IDK.

It could work, you'd just have to limit it to only maybe two or three players a year, tops. You would decide basically if you feel it would benefit them to come out this year if they get a promise, and wouldn't let more then two or three do it.
