1- Tony Parker- Undoubtedly the crème of the crop in the free agent market this year. At 23, Parker has not even reached his prime yet which makes him even more of a commodity. The problem is that seemingly looked like TP will return to the Raptors barring a change of heart. It would be a sigh to see if Parker does decide to head back across the border to the United States though.
2- Travis Best- Breaking out last season was the easy part. This year, Best hopes to get paid for it. Other than Parker, Best has the best handling and assist to turnover ratio than any other guard on this list. What makes Best even more intriguing is that at 33, he is probably the best he is going to be for the rest of his career.
3- Mike James- Following Best and Parker, James seems to be the next logical choice if looking for a point guard. He averaged near eight assists a game last season but also turned the ball over three times a game. Like Best, James is also in his thirties but still has game. Look for at least for him to sign a mid-level exception with a needy team.
4- Damon Stoudamire- This former Wildcat marks the fourth 30-year-old on this list. Stoudamire is probably best suited for a back up role but certainly has the capacity to start on some teams. His outside game is exceptional, handling is above par and his defense is average. Expect him to at least field MLE and some LLE offers.
5- Antonio Daniels- A slow start to his career has not hampered Daniels’ chances to be a good player in this league. Similar to Stoudamire, he has very good outside shot, decent handle with the rock and strong on the defensive side of the court. Daniels played the most minutes of his career last year with the Nuggets after spending many years as a back up for the Clippers.

1- Michael Finley- ‘Fin-Dog’ is possibly the most underrated player of all the top free agents by position this off-season. Finley has been a stellar scorer for the Pistons for the past five seasons and his consistency has been remarkable. In fact, his best season came last year when he averaged better than 23 points per game on 46 percent shooting from the field including 41 percent from three. Still at 32, Finley probably won’t demand more than eight or nine million a year.
2- Bonzi Wells- This guy seems like he can’t stay in one spot for more than year. After starting his career with the Jazz in 2000, he returned to Utah three years later but not before stops in Phildelphia, Portland and recently with Toronto. Wells puts up consistent numbers on the offense and can play good defense when given the opportunity. The market this year should show if Wells gets more than a one year tender.
3- Eddie Jones- Steady Eddie has been just that and more since his inception in BBS. He is a 44 percent shooter from the field in his career and hits over 35 percent from behind the three point line. And like Wells, Jones has played for four different teams in five seasons. Who knows if Jones will stick around with Minnesota after this off-season, but he certainly deserves more than a one year deal for a winning team.
4- Jamal Crawford- Five years removed from the creation draft, Crawford never really became that big time player. But he certainly has some potential to give a boost off the bench or be a spot starter. The former Michigan standout has the potential to shoot lights out in certain points of the game but his defense is still a question. A one year deal is very possible for Crawford.
5- Ruben Patterson- Stop joking about the Kobe Stopper thing already. Patterson isn’t that anymore or even if he wish he still was somewhat like that. Nevertheless, Patterson provides some defensive platoon for a team that can help a team that is contention. This Cincy product would only really demand a one or two year minimum deal at this point though.
