I think they were pretty close. They both had their plusses. They gave you a message but you didnt go away thinking they were trying to talk down to you, or come across in a negative way. I love the end of Darjeeling when they "get rid of their baggage", pretty funny. I also like recent movies Eternal Sunshine and Little Miss Sunshine, because they give you a life lesson, but its well done. V for Vendetta is pretty damn good as well. This might be the best movie I ever saw in a theater. I didnt expect it to be even half as good as it was. I think one of the things I miss about the old Batman movies is the feel of Gotham City. I liked the surreal feel of the city in the older movies, and its virtually non existent now. V gave that similar surreal feeling. Yeah, messages work when they're understated/subtle, and Little Miss Sunshine did a great job at that, even if there was one scene where it all came together. Kinda works because it doesn't use dialogue. V for Vendetta is my all-time favorite movie. Did the message thing perfectly, I guess because it consumed the life of its characters and was so central to the plot. I love that movie. I loved it for so many reasons. Well acted all around. Not realistic, but also, very realistic, if that makes sense. The surreal feel of the city itself. The use of the masks was extremely moving. Just lots of the parts of the movie made it just awesome. And seeing it in the theater was even better because it was more breathtaking visually. The uses of black and red.

It's realistic because it creates its own reality and plays so much to actual fears about government control and censorship. The gathering of the masses thing is relatable, too, and yeah, the masks made for such great scenes. The movie moves so well, and the characters are great.

White Russians are good. When I was like 14, after I watched that movie with my cousin, we went into his dad's bar and made them. I should drink them exclusively. I'll be cool.

Any movie over 2 hours that doesnt seem like its long enough is always good.

I really do not care that you liked it or not because when it comes to movies everyone is different. But I really did not like the old ones that much. I enjoyed them, but I feel Nolans take on Batman is much more real and that makes it a lot interesting/darker and overall just better films. Gotham City in the older movies was too cartoony to me. Gotham City now is realistic and the movie makes it come across like this type of thing could really happen. Just my take.

Two of my favorites that aren't really mainstream or well known are City of God & The Lives of Others. Fantastic movies.
