Joe Alexander 12/26/1986 SF/PF 6-8 220 West Virginia Strengths: Athletic player that will finish strong at the basket. Excels on the glass using his leaping ability. Good speed and quickness with a long wingspan. Good mid range game and a strong player off the dribble to the basket. A hustler who will do it all for you on the court, great team player. Weaknesses: Needs to develop a better outside shot and be consistent with it. Has to control his turn overs. Has to be a lot more disciplined defensively. Needs to be more consistent with his overall game. Potential Ratings: B- B- C B- C B Notes: Very good athlete that can run and jump with the best of them.

I think he should be more B,C+ than B-,B-
He has a huge vertical leap, great finisher, goes to the basket really hard, and has a nice combo of back/face to the basket game. He really doesn't have that much range however he can hit a 3 if needed but is more within 15ft. After the NBA combine he was listed as the best athlete in the draft.

His 3point shot is very inconsistent. But he is very athletic.

HE'S A GOOD SHOOTER!!!! Oh my. He changed so much this year, and was a fucking lights out shooter when he got hot. Hardly that inconsistent.

Joe has no NBA 3 point range. He has a very good midrange game, but is so inconsistent with it is hard to give a good range. Around the basket he struggles with longer players or a lot bigger bodies than his, but he still find a way to put a few highlight type of dunks or drives on them. He has huge upside. Huggs really changed his game this year and he would have benefitted by coming back. His draft stock likely wouldn't have been as high next year, but he would have been a much more NBA ready player.
I would grade him a B- inside and a high C outside. Giving him a B inside rating would be reasonable as well.

He was playing well early in the season, but got hurt by trying to pull off an idiotic dunk over of a St. Johns player that he was trying to make look bad. He played like shit after that game till the UCONN game where he broke out. I don't think he is NBA ready at this point and would have easily been had he gone to school for another year (going off how much he developed under Huggs). He should be at least a good player in 2 or 3 years.
