This is your boy Stephen A. Smith reporting, not interviewing, but REPORTING on this years past draft. I had to sit through hours of listening to the terrible commentary of Stuart Scott and his panel of morons. Jay Bilas just makes up words as he says how special every player in college basketball is and Van Gundy and Mark Jackson have no idea what the hell he is talking about or anything to do with college basketball so they agree and just say each kid is special too. MEANWHILE I have to wait for these kids to come and talk to me and most of them are ILLITERATE because they have no education these one year wonder freshman who don't go to class and get paid illegally by agents. Where was all of this when I played division II basketball? On top of all this I have to get heckled by some MORON that thinks he's me with a dirty tube sock on his hand. OK so lets get some REAL ANALYSIS and not just he's a SPECIAL player, oh yea he's a SPECIAL talent, he's a SPECIAL SPECIAL person. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! Lets go to it.
The Winners
Miami- Things are HEATing up in Miami with the additions of who should have been the #1 pick the best talent in the draft Michael BEASTly. Also the Heat stole JJ Hickson with the 25th pick because everyone else was sleeping on my boy JJ. Then they got CDR in the 2nd Round the 2nd round people. THE 2nd ROUND.
Portland- The Blazers got a little lucky to be on this list. I don't know what they were thinking drafting two PGs with their lotto picks but they did but Westbrook is FILTHY good. Although I would have taken Jumpin Joe Alexander from WVU. I also would have taken Donte Green over Jason Thompson but the Blazers instantly built a team with this draft.
THE LOSERS
First we got to start off with the CLIPPERS. DAMN what are they thinking. We all know the Lakers are the drunks of LA but the Clippers ride the short bus to the Staples Center. DANIEL GIBSON AND TJ FORD and you PASSSSSS on MICHAEL BEASLEY?!?!? This is why this franchise is TURRRIBLE as my gambling friend Charles Barkley would say.
Cleveland- Going international again wasn't the best idea for the Cavs. Gallinari is worse than frozen calamari thats right I eat Italian food. The Cavs GM should be in the contract year again soon. How do you fall into the contract year twice in 8 years not even that Spaniard Marty McFly does that.
The steal of the first round is definitely Russell Westbrook the boy can flat out play. He is a BALLER, SHOT CALLER, and he is a FREAK. Also got to love Billy Walker in the first round. The Blazers are just well BLAZIN.
BUST BUST BUST and no I'm not talking about PINA's Ta Ta's but you have to look at Kevin Love he looks like the next Brad Miller and look where he is still on the leftover free agency list. EWWW
A player who got completely overlooked this draft is definitely Mario Chalmers. The National Champion slipped all the way to the 2nd round and is looking better than top picks Jerryd Bayless and DJ Augustin. Looks like Mario ate his mushroom and got big.
