*Parts of this were written before FA so forgive me, thanks. Also, a lot of this was written just to get something controversial up so don’t take it to seriously, except for Jah. Part 2 (the West) is coming soon by Outlawz.
GM’s in the Atlantic Division
Boston GM, Kris
Where is he? He is never around. Maybe it’s just because it’s the off-season, or maybe it’s because I’m blind but it’s probably not. He should never have traded Kobe. He has Manu now which isn’t that much of a downgrade but his team at the moment, barring an incredible FA pickup is terrible. Kris needs to really do something here, even if it is a half-hearted attempt at rebuilding because at the moment, this team isn’t going anywhere. He is a really nice guy and when he does post, he is a good addition to the league but right now, his team is really suffering.
Miami GM, E-boner
Ebener recently made a big move to shake things up. Going from his most recent trade thread, he now has Aminu, Melo, Hickson, Gibson, his own picks and cap which is a pretty nice situation to be in. Ebener as a GM, I haven’t really (actually ever) traded with him so it’s hard to gauge what he is like in that respect however on the boards he is pretty cool except for the season before/after he won the championship when he thought he was the reincarnation of Jesus.
New Jersey GM, Mark
Mark will always have good teams because he is a great GM. He always has a team with at least one superstar or one soon to be superstar. At the moment he has Greg Oden (who he gave up a lot to get but in the end it was definitely worth it), Elton Brand, Michael Redd and Baron Davis. He was pretty lucky early on in terms of FA acquisitions and the likes but throughout the course of the BBS, has cemented his position as one of the leagues most consistant GM’s. Also, please change your name back to Mark, thanks.
New York GM, Wilson aka Outlawz
Outlawz is probably the best GM in the league. He is semi lucky though (landing the number 1 pick this season, drafting Wade back in the day) but in all seriousness, he is a damn good GM. One thing annoys me though is when he strides the boards knowing he is the best, I don’t know, but guys like Rielly, Aar, Mark etc don’t do that but whatever, he has a really great team. He is a GM who I quietly love.
Orlando GM, Habes
Habes is all over the place in my opinion. He had a really nice thing going with Bynum and Ellis until I raped him (rofl bl Danilo), just kidding, but seriously, I think he is like Skillz but with a brain and the ability to hold onto players or a plan for 1 season max. He is a lot better than Skillz actually, and maybe comparing Habes to him is inaccurate (now that I think about it, it is), but Habes just seems to deal players to quickly, maybe he gets bored? When he wants to build a winner though, he can literally do it in 3 days. Anyway, not relating to BBS even though it’s still connected, I told my brother to do a lap the other day when he was pissing me off and he told be to ‘gtfo’ minus the abbreviation. I think I still might tax the word though, I think it will work well down under. I remember when I went to America, when I got back I was using words that only began to enter everyone’s vocabulary 3 years later.
Philadelphia GM, Maniac
Sometimes, Maniac infuriates me more than any GM ever. He is such a useless douche who has the leagues MVP on his team who he luckily drafted and still gets caught in the lottery and then drafts Ajinca after reading my mock draft. Wd. But seriously, at times, I want to kill the maggot but for a majority of the time when he isn’t riding his high horse around Spencers lounge room, he is a decent guy. I’d like to see more opinionated articles from him to because he seems to have a strong word about everything. So to Maniac, good luck with your cap room, I hope you don’t sign anyone of value because I have probably submitted a bid for them also, stop calling me slugger (I love that word though. At home, my brother and me call everyone by those terms and it frustrates them. Can you imagine your son calling you champ, buddy, tiger, sport, muscles etc.. Gold IMO).
Washington GM, Jah
Jah pisses me off heaps, this guy is never around. Every player that goes to Washington, he basically kills. When KG was at Washington, it was like he vanished off the face of the planet. Wade is there now, and seriously, have you heard about him? No. And I love it that he always calls me out, all the time. Not ALL the time because he is never on, but he always does. I’m pretty sure he did last draft even though I sent a draft list to 2 separate GM’s including Spencer. I want to talk about your team but they are so insignificant that I can’t be bothered. Your teams actually decent, but no one knows anything about them. Please do something, anything.
GM’s in the Central Division[/u]
Atlanta GM, 20
Can’t really say that much about this guy except he seemed to make a very big splash when he entered the league trying to get his picks back (which he did tend to overpay for) however has seemingly disappeared. The Hawks have a lot of their picks back plus a few very tradeable and nice pieces that they can get a lot of value for. I questioned this guys appointment because I had no idea who he was even though I felt that there were better people on the waiting list however what he has done so far has been rather impressive. It’s hard to come into the league, get a team who in the future, don’t look so great and begin to rebuild.
New Orleans GM, Donatello
Another new GM who once more, will be very hard to analyse. The Hornets have Jeff Green, Shved, Eric Gordon and a lot of cap room. I’ll reserve my judgement on Donatello until a later date. One thing I will discuss here is the appointment of both Donatello and the aforementioned 20. We seemed to have a lot of talented guys on the waiting list (I cannot remember who exactly) yet 2 openings come up and we fill them with guys who Ducky recommended? Ducky is a fool, he fired me from his league when I was on vacation. I like him, he has my MySpace and on his, has a daily bible verse, but come on, Ducky…? Surely we could have went after some more established guys. In saying that, I hope they both prove me wrong and become valuable additions to the BBS.
Chicago GM, Play
The Bulls sucked for the first couple of years in the BBS but then Play got his lazy ass into gear and made some decent trades, acquiring Marion and Pierce and pairing them with Randolph and Howard. At the moment Play is trying to get his picks back which is a good sign. If Chicago want to make any sort of impact in the league though Play will have to really try and become more active, at the moment he would probably rank as one of the least active GM’s in the BBS (which is understandable considering he runs NBN, falls asleep at work, has asthma etc).
Cleveland GM, James
Intelligent, good looking, Australian. Often described as the leader of the new generation of BBS GM’s. Well rounded, entertaining, funny. The ‘back-bone’ of the league. Should replace Spencer as commish. GL.
Detroit GM, Reilly
I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw Reilly on the boards but in saying that, the guy just won a championship. I don’t know, but besides from his activity levels and the fact that Detroit, as well as Washington have teams who I have no idea who is on their playing roster, I can’t really fault Reilly for anything because he is also a really nice guy.
Indiana GM, Nova
I like Nova. Even though he is like 12 years old and dreams about sims, I think he is both a decent GM and also a pretty nice kid. One criticism I have of him when he GM’s is that he will follow some sort of plan for 80% of the season and then his brain will die or fall asleep and he will undo all of his hardwork. This happened in the last BBS and I remember Dave poiting out in a thread something like “Nova is going to make this stupid trade” and then like 2 days later, Nova made that stupid trade. Anyway, he is in his contract year at the moment and had some pretty nice pieces to deal. He is behind the 8-ball at the moment (.500) however hopefully, with a few more deals, should get over the challenge.
Milwaukee GM, Jordan
Jordan is a quiet GM and has had quiet success over the course of the current and the old BBS. He has had a good team since day 1 and doesn’t get up in peoples faces, too much which is why it’s really hard to critically analyse him as a GM. What a let down analysis…
Toronto GM, DJ
Okay, DJ almost makes me quit everytime he has a lottery pick. I dislike him too, he has done nothing to me personally, but it just seems as though he GM’s and doesn’t REALLY care about his team or care for making moves (actively) yet luck just seems to fall into his lap. Obviously he won the Parker lottery and just recently landed picks 2 and 3 in a pretty talented draft. When I saw that he landed both picks I almost cried. It took a lot of time for me to acquire both Yi and Bynum via trades and DJ just goes and lands 2 players of equal skill/potential via a stroke of luck. He is a GM who makes other GM’s want to kill themselves.
GM’s in the Atlantic Division
Boston GM, Kris
Where is he? He is never around. Maybe it’s just because it’s the off-season, or maybe it’s because I’m blind but it’s probably not. He should never have traded Kobe.
