Scotty Hopson
6’5” – 185 lbs – 2/3
Potential Rookie Ratings - B- C+ C C C- A
Pros – For such a young kid, he has an amazing basketball IQ. The word potential is thrown around with quite a few prospects, but Hopson tops the list. He won’t be a major player right away, but BBS scouts believe he has the chance to really blow up a few years down the line. Unlike other potential players in the draft (Bud Mackey), Hopson seems to have a good head on his shoulders. If everything pans out, he will be a 20+ ppg scorer.
Cons – Don’t expect much early from Hopson. Again, though potential can be a positive, it can also be a negative. Will he fulfill it? Defense seems to be pretty weak. Though he can be an elite scorer, he’ll never be a shut down defender. Patience is key with Hopson.
