For me personally this has been the most succesful rebuild i've had in quite some time. So i figured i'd write about it.
In 08 i could have easily made it to the finals again but i made the sacrifice in order to get the most value for my players. At first i couldnt find a deal i liked for any of my guys and secondly CJ was being a cock about my pick 08 1st. So i went into the season saying fuck it and i believe we had 7-2 opening sim.
The move that got everything going was when i was able to move Ratliff for expiring and the celts 11+13. Those picks are looking pretty good right now.
Im not sure which came first but i then moved Shaq to the Jazz for fillers and Jazz 13/14/15 with the thought that in 13 i could pry Paul off andy by giving him his picks back. That somewhat backfired with the vanishing act andy pulled and spencer dealing off paul but it can still pay off in the future.
The next move was Pierce. He went for Kleiza/Ivan/Bosh. I had a really good feeling about Ivan so although i didnt like the deal i risked it. Hoping that i can move Bosh for something nice. Im always looking to make moves so i can make other moves. Right now i love Ivans game as is one of my more valuable players
I then moved Bosh for Stuckey who has somewhat dissapointed but Stuckey can do a little bit of everything. Great rebounder for a 2 and he's an all league defender with only B+ defense so im happy.
I ended the season by getting a couple of picks for Mo adding to my pick count
This all happened while still winning 40 games in 08.
Right now i have a plethora of picks (20 to be exact up to year 2016) and a bunch of young guys like Derozan, Clark, Ebanks, Fall, Claver and guys ready to contribute like stuckey and ivan.
I was dissapointed when BBS 2 ended right when i felt i had built the best BBS 2 assembled. Team went on to win 70 games that last season. After losing to the Mavs my mission was to be able to create enough assets to build a dominant team that can win for 7-8 seasons and i feel ive put myself in that situation.
Morale of the story. Patience is key but direction is vital.. Winning is everything.
Im sure no one will care about this article but 50 points for me.
